breadI know exactly what you’re saying. It’s hard to word it. Like this is a great album and I love running songs like Sentry and Free the Ruler, but man I just feel like we could’ve gotten something generational from this duo
Geb is like the first time in forever that you can hear Earl rapping like he believes he’s the GOAT if that makes sense

And just think its missing that “it”
Way too safe and typical
Before when you hear Earl x Alc it wasn’t too typical
But ironically enough the writing is as sharp as ever

All album damn near doesn't really "hit" - before anyone quotes relax I love the album you KNOW what I mean though
In reality its only Geb where you can just feel it 3 seconds in
Still amazed by the Geb to Deadzone transition though

Earl said he tried to challenge himself lyrically on that album so Alchemist probably played it safe with the beats to let his message shine.
