how long are souls games dlcs are
Normally it's 3-4 extra bosses but I expect the scale will be much bigger here
Some of the stuff in Vaati's recent videos makes me think this dude has a direct hotline to From Software and somehow knew about the DLC in advance
He does and to go off topic he's a genuinely likeable guy but i do think he's super overrated in the community. Most of his lore videos don't even go that deep but he's always treated as this go to guy when it comes to lore
Glad to see his channel do well either way tho not tryna hate

I like him a lot, but I do think the presentation is where he's untouchable, people like Quelaag really go in deep with the granular stuff and I really love putting that on when I'm in the mood for it, but Vaati's professional visuals and lovely Australian voice keep me coming back, he's like the AAA of lore videos, very entertaining and offers a great overview but sometimes you need an indie to really explore places you didn't consider before
Also I've gotta say, after watching anough Elden Ring lore videos, the amount of detail and significance in each individual item, even in minor architectural details, makes me appreciate Miyazaki even more, the guy's just got a different brain
elden ring it is!! praying im not major ass at this
Even if you are pls don’t lose hope, it’s worth it to persevere
I was complete ass at these games when i first started

That comparison is actually spot on, and def where he shines is with the presentation and his delivery
When it comes to Bloodborne i gotta give it up for Sinclair Lore tho. Admittedly you gotta dig thru some trash but all the extensive work they have done over the years uncovering Bloodborne in every way possible is really crazy and i respect it a lot.
Also this guy named Charred Thermos did a Bloodborne series that's for some reason still pretty lowkey even in the community, but it's probably one of the most informed a***ysis' of BB, it's themes and real life influences. Really gave me so much insight and granted me eyes frfr

For Elden Ring i REALLY fw the Tarnished Archeologist and the way he breaks down all the environmental stuff

These guys should just hire some British chick with a hot voice to narrate their videos. They’d get way more views.

Thanks so much for the recs dude, Soulsborne lore vids are always fascinating to me so you can bet I'll be giving them a watch, not sure if you've ever seen Jerks Sans Frontieres' stuff but their Bloodborne Up Close series from a few years back is a personal fave of mine

Yeah bro JSF is actually in pretty much every Sinclair Lore video as well, they form a fun duo but JSF is actually so knowledgeable of everything BB its kinda scary
No problem, i also enjoy the rabbit hole that the lore of these games always take me in to. Miyazaki is the special one

betttt thanks brotha
should I go in purely blind or look at a beginner guide?

should I go in purely blind or look at a beginner guide?
Depends on your tastes homie, here’s a good general starters guide though:

the best way is always gonna be to experiment and try things for yourself IMO but if you have any questions holla anytime, lots of ppl here including myself who are happy to help
betttt thanks brotha

Purely blind, unless you’re at the point where you’re gonna quit the game out of frustration
Best to play without knowing anything, but also not worth ruining the experience by not looking anything up or summoning if you’re stuck

He gets stuff wrong too
A lot of souls lore content creators miss the huge parts of the lore hidden in the japanese versione, as many descriptions and dialogues contain more information and/or have mistranslations in the west. There are still a lot of misconceptions due to these incorrect translation not only in elden ring, but in dark souls too. I wouldnt blame the smaller youtubers for this because you'd need to hire a good translator to do that work for you, but honestly i think vaati should consider that, he got the numbers and the quality to need that type of insight in his videos. The biggest example is the crucible being the primordial form of the erd tree, a melting pot of life. But in reality looking at japanese descriptions it comes out that the crucible was the same tree under a different name and of a reddish color instead of golden, which changes other parts of the lore in a cascading effect

Its the presentation more than anything
Theyre just chill videos and he admits when he is just filling the blanks and when he speculates
In the end I think the correct was to play these games is if you try to put together the story for yourself
However Vaati is a good gateway d***

doesn't the game itself specify at some point (some item descriptions) that the crucible was the primordial form of the erd tree?
Or am i wrong as well lmao
