Need this to release ASAP f*** waiting months
Hope we get either Armored core or Elden ring dlc before August
No actually, everything regarding souls localization i know of came from a big italian youtuber whos been talking about these games for a long time, but i will take notes on this Loki!! Do they have a yt channel or something?
my bad it's spelled Lokey
He published a beautiful (but pricey) Dark Souls lore collection of hardcovers
You can check out his work here or on Youtube if you search for his name in relation to soulsborne

Thanks! That collection looks so good but yeah s***'s expensive as hell
I think that erdtree and crucible are simply the same tree under different eras. We know that in the history of the lands between there are at least 3 eras we know of: age of the ancient dragons, age of the giants, age of the Golden order. We dont know a whole lot about the giants, but in the age of the dragons, set a long long time before the golden order, there was an elden lord in placidusax and thus there was an elden ring, an elden beast and the greater will's influence. There is also the elden ring effigy in the farum azula mausoleum which proves greater will has basically always had a huge influence in the lands between.
Now that is related with the tree in the fact that the color red frequently comes out when discussing the crucible. The crucible incantations symbol is very, very similar to the erdtree incantations symbol as you can see in the image below, but the crucible is more of a reddish gold, while the erdtree is a pure gold.
The ancient dragons who lived in the age of the crucible also unleash red lightning as we can see when we fight them in game, red like the crucible. In general red is the color of the crucible it seems, but there is a definitive proof that seals it: the rune of death is red in color, the Golden order was born from Marika removing the rune of death from the elden ring, the crimson gold becomes gold, the crucible becomes the erdtree which is the main religious figure of worship under Marika's rule. So basically, the crucible is what the erdtree is called in its primordial form, a form in which the golden resin was red because of the rune of death's influence, its powers didnt include death and rebirth, as rune of death = destined death and thus no rebirth, and the main religion wasnt the golden order, but whatever their religion that worshipped the crucible was.
TLDR: its like God in abrahamic religions: same entity, different names, different interpretations
Great explanation thanks
One thing I don’t see being mentioned much about the DLC is its name. “Shadow of the erdtree” I feel like everyone is thinking about some kind of “dark side” of the erdtree, but you can actually be in the shadow of something, and in this case the erdtree because it’s blocking the sun. Miquella was trying to block out the sun by bringing about an eclipse.
Dunno where I’m going with that exactly, but also being “in the shadow” of something can also mean that something is looming over you, like maybe the inevitable age of the erdtree conquering everything as Miquella witnesses it.
There is a “secret” way to pause the game, but I like to see people up in arms

i was finna say, there’s deadass a way to pause the game and dude is still crying on social media like that
I got so lucky when I fought and beat malenia my first play through of this, she wasn’t doing that flying spiral move much at all for some odd reason after like 12-15 attempts, both phases, was kinda weird actually

I got stupid lucky, a glitch happened so her second phase started with 5% health, I took her down in one hit by accident, felt empty
Great explanation thanks

That whole deal with the eclypse mentioned in castle sol, miquella and godwyn is very fascinating and imo will be quite important here solely based on miquella's presence, but i still havent delved into this part of the lore too much so i cant say for sure whats that all about, but yeah i dont think you're off base here just yet
so tbh ive been playing Hogwarts and I'm reminded why FromSoft is the greatest.
Their combat is just so good. You really feel like you have to fight. The bosses be so epic in this game. I will take down this giant.

I had no luck. Took me like 50 tries to beat her
Beat the game months ago and thought I'd got it 100%, 300+ hours, saw a guy do a 1HP playthrough today and I didn't recognise a location, turns out there was a secret cave I didn't notice all this time, this game is huge

Damn what cave
I missed one on the weeping peninsula but stumbled upon it on a different playthrough lmao. Also the one in liurnia with the cleanrot knight I never found until I looked up the talisman

It was the Abandoned Cave in Caelid, would never have thought to traverse the terrain that gets you there
What are you fighting?
fire giant
all dumb deaths too. i'll get him though his moveset isn't too bad

He's a tough one but definitely one of the most mechanically fun bosses in the game IMO
PC performance is still ass on this man, framerate's good but the frame pacing and stuttering are impossible to ignore

Hmm the first week or so was rough but I can’t say I’ve had any noticeable issues since then. And my PC isn’t anything special. It’s all pretty smooth.

Damn, I think it's just poor optimisation, I've got a good PC but I know people with better specs and even worse issues, now I've got a PS5 I'm thinking of getting it again but I dunno, starting again is very daunting and I'm not sure I'd enjoy struggling from the start all over again
