Didnt read the spoiler stuff but yeah i agree on difficulty. I get through these games easier than most people, but that still doesnt change that it still feels the same baseline wise. Its not a huge difference.
And there is literally a mechanic that makes everything easier.
Only the intial area before getting reused to everything and Messmer himself felt like a step above in difficulty - but thats literally what scardutree fragments are for and its specifically baked into Messmer and the Lava Golems.
But we go through this with every FS game. Even AC6. Its ridiculous.
And most of the time imo, its people that make the experience harder than it actually is. Not using items, not being aware of your surroundings, not trying new strats out, dont read, put a dumb arbitrary restriction on themselves or they literally upgrading their stats/weapon randomly (which is bad in pretty much every rpg not just FS ones).
Lot of people do literally just head first in without any thought or plan and then cry and wonder why they been stuck on a boss or area for half of a day.
This game is not harder than Sekiro or the Bloodborne dungeons. Thise are the two benchmarks omo for what "hard" is in FS. ER and every kther FS game is challenging as but its not impossible.
I dont get it.
I will never understand the "discourse" of these games being "punishingly difficult".
These games arent even the hardest games or moments overall of that I played.
Half of the game to "get good" is to just have a proper build, and be aware of your surroundings and enemies. Also use all your tools at your disposal if need be.
The games are challenging, but not " "hard " " imo.

I also really hate when someone is having an extremely difficult time with these games to the point it makes them mad and turn away that then assume everyone else is also having that "extremely hard frusturating" experience but theyre begrudgingly not putting down and making themselves suffer at the expensive of themselves when they should also just quit. No bro, my experience is great thats why im playing.
S*** is stupid. I can count on my hand the few moments i ever got frustrated like that. 98 percent of the whole FS extended universe im fine and its amazing.
The run back in DS2 dlc of the blue Smelter Demon, chalice dungeon Amydgala in Bloodborne, 3 staged final boss of Sekiro, the run bacl to and plus the battle of The Bed of Chaos in DS1. Thats literally it off the top of my head.
Im about to respec my build. should I go str/fth or a more dex centered build? I’m leaning toward a strength based build because I like the idea of crushing s*** with a huge weapon, but I’m kinda bad and not sure if I could make it thru the game with a slow ass character
I want something genuinely fun but I’m not into magic like that at all

Faith is so fun. But high dex with a bow helps so much outside of boss battles. Almost want to respec into dex for the bow use.
My character is now a Gilded Lightning Knight 🤓

STR with a colossal weapon is really good, you can stun lock alot of bosses with it. With high HP and poise you can trade attacks also.
In my current playthrough I been mostly putting points in Faith and its been really fun. Mostly been using claymore for meele, and some incantations for buffs and long range attacks. Faith gives you a lot of options to work with.
Romania Saint of the Bud donezo 3RD TRY
I guess this is where, or who, Melania got the Butterfly form from

Str/fth kinda easy mode imo.
Divine Beast Dancing Lion down 2nd try
Shoutout max level Thunderdrake & Pearldrake tailsmans
I chose Confessor because the character was dripped out. Found out that he doesn't do much damage and health was way too low. So I went with that Paladin build which was recommended online but I don't really like that play style of defending and buffing. Now im like 15 hours into the game and it doesn't make sense for to change the class.
Just should've chosen Samurai. Like my gut feeling was telling me

Im str and faith
I prefer faith because i hate using staffs for magic in any game lmao and i love the more elemental nature of faith spells, thats the kind of magic i enjoy and using your hands
I have a dex+str weapon as my secondary for when i need something thats more fast and nimble for the occasion
I usually do dex or dex+str weapons in FS games like halberds and katanas etc. but the greatswords on ER are amazing
I used Magma Wyrms Curved Great Scalesword as my main and Dragon Halberd as my secondary for most of my og playthrough then in late game of my og playthrough i used Malikeths Black Blade as my main & Godskin Stitcher Great Rapier as my secondary
In NG+ i used Blasphemous Blade as my main & Bolt of Gransax as my secondary
In the DLC so far im using Ancient Meteroric Ore Greatsword as my main & using Beast Claws as my secondary
And i sometimes use greatshields for both aesthetic and gameplay, which its my first time ever really using shields in FS games since shields have a lot of utility with their ashes in ER and they have the OP guard counter move

You can easily change stats once you beat Renalla
Its not a big deal you can easily be whatever you want in FS games and wahtever mixed hybrid - you aren't locked in and everything on the starter classes you will also find in the game too
Why did you talk to me like that 😂
But yeah im mostly thinking to get Elden Ring cause it seems more of a spectacle than the other linear ones
I’m busy alot so thats why im contemplating if its even worth it considering it probably wont help me relax it would just tense the situation even more
But I like freedom in games so thats drawing me in
I haven't bought ER because I'm intimidated by the sheer scope and size of it. I like to really explore and do everything when playing a game. This one just seems insanely huge. Plus you're still probably going to end up struggling with the difficulty of it, requiring multiple attempts over and over to beat some bosses. And experimenting with build variety
I'd definitely recommend you play Dark Souls Remastered, Bloodborne, maybe Sekiro before Elden Ring. Will take less time and if you decide to go back to them after finishing ER, they'll feel easier and more limited which may be disappointing

Yeah but I was put off by this genre as a whole cause of how janky the gameplay is and looks
It legit has the same PS3 type style of gameplay, very stiff
I'm used to MGSV and Naughty Dog type fluidity
Str/fth kinda easy mode imo.
I could see that, but it does look like plenty fun tho. What build do you like?
SALE: I just hopped on my Xbox Series S and a big sale just went live on the Xbox Store.
Elden Ring is about 30% off and Sekiro is 50% off. If you've been curious about these games you can get them a bit cheaper now.
Disclaimer: This is at least true for the Xbox Store/Microsoft Store in Sweden where I live, and probably the rest of Europe. If you live in other regions, check if the sale is there for you as well.
