twitter incurred $13 billion in debt for this buyout - an ADDITIONAL $13 billion in debt on top of whatever already existed

the company now needs ot essentially scale profitability to be able to match the new exponential amount of debt, whether through new revenues or cutting costs (or a mix of both). the scale of profitability relative to the debt stake is insane, especialyl given Twitter quarter of quarter is known to lose money regularly already

so while people may think he's firing all these employees for ideological reasons, i'm just saying that's likely only partially true and in realtity he's trying to cut costs as quickly as humanly possible

Twitter had a negative debt paydown yield prior to this too already
