If he fails with this it’ll be the ultimate small d*** energy s***

Went out of his way to buy Twitter thinking it’d make him look cool and unstoppable only to immediately wreck it and the livelihood of thousands. All for some clout and brownie points.

    Martin Shkreli type move

The more time passes the more this whole situation reminds me of when when Czar Alexander III's train derailed in 1888 and killed 23 people, because Alexander was drunkenly demanding the engineer go faster and when the guy explained that's not how trains work Alexander accused him of being a Jew

Phenomenal business move by elon here. Made ridiculous money off losers and trolls this week. Had Twitter publicity through the roof. Increased the user base.

And now they can just revert to the old system and walk away with all that free money and press.

Bro was talking about making Twitter the no.1 source of information the whole time, developing a new way for checkmarks to be given out. He rolls it out, misinformation is through the roof and instantly backs out. But he made some quick money back 🤣🤣🤣

You mean like exactly how they did before?

Even if he kept the checkmarks for notability only, and all the 400,000 accounts agreed to pay $8 a month for it (unlikely, many would just drop it), it'd only be making Twitter $38.5 million a year, a tiny amount compared to the $44 billion he's trying to recoup, he's not very good at this

he bought them at a price that was super over valued, and the company had already been looking at a grim financial future. i believe the company has operated at a loss for a while tho.

but the entire anyone can get a blue check + "free speech" hill he's trying to die on is making a ton of advertisers and partners pull their money/support out of the company

twitter wasn't doing hot but probably would've survived, but it might not with the way elon has started his tenure

holy s*** this man really killed twitter because he’s a quirky dork

No most verified checks were given unfairly and half them weren't even needed, so remove them all and give only important ones out. I think advertisers pulled out bc the $8 blue checks s*** so that would have saved that ad revenue then he'd have to find another avenue.
