Kinda off topic but the dumbassess here in Cali passed a propsition that makes Uber drivers independent contractors instead of employees which means they get no benefits

Uber had a very wide-reaching elaborate propaganda campaign and duped the whole state with that one, pretty wild

The question is implying working at amazon is slavery which is it isnt
I know Ive worked at amazon warehouses several times

Your calling for stagnation which is something i cant agree with

Amazon and other billion dollar companies literally use slave labor

No it’s not lol he’s saying if “good” just means cheaper / more convenient from the perspective of the consumer then slavery is good

    Put it this way

You can experience having a PS4 through next day delivery because we live in a country that doesnt force laborers to work for Amazon

Small businesses can also order supplies in bulk to keep their business living and provide a life for their families. It's not just a PS4

I’m not calling for stagnation… I’m calling for people to stop pursuing economic growth for the sake of it

We already talked about how capitalism is predicated on mandatory growth, even when that growth is unstable, wasteful, or outright impossible.

You’re creating an unnecessary binary. The alternative is not only stagnation

Its good that amazon provides a service thats in demand
    Simple as that
Otherwise it wouldnt be as successful as it is today

At the small small price of putting those local stores out of business

What good does near-slavery do for the person making an unlivable wage, breaking their back in a warehouse moving goods?

Never said that was good at all, again get your head out of your ass and stop trying to project these ideas onto me

I absolutely agree, which is why we need to reform economies so that laborers receive the entire value of their labor. That would allow for progress to be achieved while also making sure everyone is fairly compensated for their labor

how you gonna get benefits for a job when you can decide at any point to not work or just quit altogether

unless they were arguing that drivers that were driving uber 8 hours a day should get benefits? that makes more sense

If you provide a service that’s in demand then you must be good

The US army needed rockets to kill civilians and Raytheon did good by fulfilling that demand
