well one of the main discrepancies people have with Elon is that he’s usually not very involved with certain companies’ successes and yet his fanboys give him all the credit despite his obv lack of actual scientific knowledge on these issues, that’s not even getting into the things he’s actually proposed which haven’t even worked out

Although I don’t fully agree with that exact take, I understand what you mean. Other users itt were talking about space travel like it in itself was crazy, and that’s why I posted what I did. Space travel and saving the world (climate change, etc) go hand in hand to me and one has never taken away from the other to my knowledge. So the space travel slander (one user called it a sci-fi fetish?lol) was weird. It’s always been a net positive, and the goals involving space are as well
