It's 5 companies (big tech). I work for one of them.
Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google.

They are paying 350k+ for Software Engineer 2 position which requires like 3 years of work experience.

You realize that has nothing to do with it right? Companies are forced to lay people off, it happens sometimes.

But you seriously think it’s a compete coincidence that email got sent out about employees having to return to the office and 2 days later they say they’re halting hiring and need to cut 10%????

I mean first of all its 10% of the non majority of workers (factory etc) so its closer to 3-4%

second of all youre right, i dont think they are a coincidence, i think he wants to make some cuts and some of the execs are choosing to stay working from home and at some companies thats fine but at tesla hes choosing that they be in the office or pretend to work somewhere else

is it scummy? i mean, look at the overall market, s*** is down and were possibly headed into a recession. The china lockdowns have effected the shangai factory so im sure things like this have to happen.
