YANDHIChina hasn't been "communist" for a while they've just never changed their party name.
They mix a few ideas but they've embraced capitalist ideas and economy since Deng Xiaoping took over in the 80's. Like just look at every major company producing there its a haven for them lol

capitalist economy yeah. but what is it when they have this surveillance social credit score thing and it’s illegal to joke about the police in a private chat group? these feel like they come from communist ideals.

unfortunately their pop cultural exports just aren't as accepted as their main competitors in east asia (Japan, South Korea) and quite frankly I think they get a pretty negative view in the press (not that it's unwarranted)

China doesn't need to do anything but continue to sign better exploitation deals than the US. It's already happening in Africa, Russia, iran, Bolivia, etc.

Western history has managed to confuse people into jumbling up communism with authoritarianism quite well but that isn't really the case.
