Nah,the world gonna be on to something new by then and all the bullshit today gonna be forgotten with time. Just like how people don’t use flip phones anymore, today’s rap is gonna get thrown just like that because of how it tried to monetize and turn itself into a product instead of creating real moments and connecting with the people on a human level.

    J.Cole boring regardless tbh

idk all eras of mainstream music get commercialised

i think you'll be surprised how much from this decade in hip hop gets remembered. obviously a lot will be forgotten but the standouts will remain. people aren't going to forget drake hits or kendrick albums

Oh no,Kendrick,Tyler,Drake,Cardi B and even a guy like 69 will be remembered even if it’s for infamous s***. I think rap is so over saturated at this point that all the guys doing this for a quick buck will be 100% forgotten like they never even rapped in the first place.

that's one song tho, not his whole career. i think he's annoyed at the extent of it, not anyone doing it ever. cos this happened in his era but not as much

I think the number 1 thing that’ll be remembered about this generation is how there was so much music but most of it wasn’t interesting or innovative. If trends and time really does come back around then I’ll say this gen is in the 80s because of how corny and pop obsessed music is.

Were due for a 90’s mainstream artistic renaissance tbh

Don’t act like he’s just being an old head when he’s already said he thinks Young thug is a genius

yeah the 80s is a good comparison in a few ways tbh, but when we think about the 80s now we think about prince, mj, public enemy, the cooler synth pop music, bruce, talking heads, joy division, sonic youth, the hounds of love by kate bush, the smiths, beastie boys, rain dogs etc.

so i know history will be rewritten and the best music will probably rise to the top decades from now and people will forget most of the 6ix9ine songs lol

  • A white man validating another white man?
