im not braggin, im sayin you talkin s*** you dont know nor understand.

you look at graphs but you dont know how to read them.

Pretty sure you read it from left to right and when the graph starts descending it's when sales start declining

Drake albums still sold on shelves

I hate the 2000s fwiw lol, it's a disgusting, ultra-selfish decade. S*** is better now. The commercial peak of the music industry foretold the horrendous slump the music industry was in between 2007-2009

Yes his albums are still sold on shelves but obviously there is more convenient and cheaper alternatives to listen to his music legally so it makes sense people would choose those alternatives.

Eminem’s early 2000s sales aren’t any more “impressive” in the sense of how they were sold. People are always going to listen to music, they only put more effort into obtaining the music then because there was no alternative choice.

i told you about napster and how it helped people get popular, using soulja boy as an example and your answer was "SOULJA BOY WAS 2007"

i was talkin bout how MJ cant be compared to eminem due to how different the circumstances were and you missed the point again.

all you do is miss the point and talk about what you wanna believe, ignoring the evidence, even twisting it to accomodate your position.

    1) eminem in his prime was bigger than both Kanye and Wayne in theirs
    2) em is still huge now
2.1) Eminem's MTBMB was the 3rd best hiphop first week last year (279K) and finished the year with more than 1.1M units sold. Additionally Eminem probably STILL a top 3 rapper globally (terms of sales)

    *Elvis level of fame

    And yes he did

  • Sep 23, 2021

Em had a d*** issue. He is better now and still happily makes music for those want it. I think he is doing just fine.

Yeah but leaking was still so relatively niche in 2002 that it didn't hurt his sales, s*** will probably be his overall best selling album, it's 1 mill behind MMLP and it's 2 years younger than it

leaking culture in the late 90s and early 2000s were interesting on their own because people used to smuggle s*** out of CD-pressing plants when they still existed

they used to press albums many months before release so people would get them out on the internet before street date

Other than Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, and Pink Floyd, there is nobody in Michael's orbit

Elvis invented this rock star s*** and his influence is incalculable

you think everyone had a f***ing turntable and money to buy vinyls?, what about cassettes... you think they were everywhere right away?

cassettes ? yes ... ? cassetes were always cheaper than CDs

  • Eminem was BIG BIG

    In the 2010s too

  • Sep 23, 2021

He already had all of that though and pretty much did it again in the early 10s when he sobered up.

    This tbh.

also: Eminem was not mj level. Mj was on another level, but Eminem was the Beatles and Elvis level

Dude dismantled his own career and he's the most made fun of disgraced former legend in music now, tough life

lol maybe one of the worst musical fall offs but you're acting like he went broke or something Eminem is getting Marvel movie soundtracks and selling out tours to this day. he's still huge commercially despite him not being relevant to most rap fans anymore

True. On a worldwide scale, the only rappers close to Em's peak are 50 Cent and MC Hammer.

He needed to have a 4:44 type album. More mature content and cut all the gimmicky bullshit out

He's had some tracks where he's come close but he can't help but be like 'it's all so hard like Jaws the shark chomping on my balls in the park and the tourists stop and they gawk and now they're all talking about Marshall Mathers getting sucked off by a porpoise'
