    Fella

Thought this would be pro Eminem lol

Lester probably would have liked those first few albums but also would have been the first one to declare Encore am abomination

  • Sep 23, 2021

Drake took his spot but Marshall Hendrix still top 3 DOA

  • Sep 23, 2021

Eminem gets d*** in the mud because he's a white dude rapping and people hate to see it🤷🏼‍♂️

He's had some tracks where he's come close but he can't help but be like 'it's all so hard like Jaws the shark chomping on my balls in the park and the tourists stop and they gawk and now they're all talking about Marshall Mathers getting sucked off by a porpoise'

For real. If he just rapped how he did on TES for 10 tracks. Chilled out on the fast rappity s***, he easily could make a great album again

  • Sep 23, 2021

im not a fan of Eminem but Eminem still is the biggest rapper ever , he's just past his prime

every basic white dude +30 will tell you he is still their favorite rapper

popularity doest mean quality , but he's still huge

    martian master

    1) eminem in his prime was bigger than both Kanye and Wayne in theirs
    2) em is still huge now
2.1) Eminem's MTBMB was the 3rd best hiphop first week last year (279K) and finished the year with more than 1.1M units sold. Additionally Eminem probably STILL a top 3 rapper globally (terms of sales)

eminem in his prime was as big as mj and the beatles

lets compare sales, mj released invincible when he was 43, the album sold 338k copies first week

eminem released MMLP2 when he was 41, the album sold 778k copies first week in a time where albums were selling way less already

i dont like the dudes music but he's the biggest rapper ever

TES might be his best album subject matter wise.

  • Sep 23, 2021

also kanye at 44 did 309k , mj did 338k at 43 in a time that albums sold a lot more

both albums had crazy promotion - mj reportedly cost 30 million to produce

so we have a lot of huge artists still

  • Sep 23, 2021

@op you are dumb and don't know what you are talking about

  • Sep 23, 2021

i hate seeing em slander , he’s a legend obviously the second half of his career isn’t crazy but i’d rather him be alive than dead with a flawless discography

He needed to have a 4:44 type album. More mature content and cut all the gimmicky bullshit out

Y’all been saying this s*** for 12 years

I remember reading how the biggest rapper in Bhutan a landlocked Asian country cited Em and 50 Cent as his biggest influences.

Em had such a diehard stanbase while simultaneously being hated it was insane

    Unforgivable

How did he fumble, when he sold 1 million first week pure before streaming was even a thing lol, still no rapper has even managed to come close

It was way easier before streaming was a thing?? Everyone had no choice but to buy the album unless all they wanted to hear was radio cuts. Big first weeks were way more common back then because people still bought albums.

Eminem got in right before album sales really took a nose dive.

  • Sep 23, 2021

If you’re in this thread comparing sales from today to people 20-60 years ago you need to know that’s an impossible comparison to make.

Sales being based mostly on streaming compared to sales when it was the only way to hear an album is not even close to a 1:1 comparison.

And even discussing fame is hard. Fame has changed indescribably even just in the last 10 years. To be famous back before social media was truly being a god. There were fewer superstars, you never saw or heard from them compared to today, and if you did it was a literal mountaintop experience.

Now we see everyone 5 times a day on social media, every faux pas or gaffe is instantly made public, it’s popular to hate on anyone and you can get a group together online to make it seem like that’s the prevalent opinion in real life. Most of that didn’t even exist back in 2000 and it sure as hell didn’t exist in the 80’s. The entire game is different now.

If I had to guess, I’d say Em has the most money regardless
