The narrative of that album is in the album itself - liking it or not doesn't matter here - the purpose was clear - mmlp was a response to the critics.
I'm pretty sure critics back then also pointed it out so this isn't even a new perspective lmao

    On "remember me"

    Remember me? I just don't give a f***
Remember me? Yeah, f*** you too
Remember me? I'm low down and I'm shifty
    Remember me? I'm Shady
When I go out, I'mma go out shooting
I don't mean when I die, I mean when I go out to the club, stupid
I'm tryna clean up my f***in' image so I promised the f***in' critics
    I wouldn't say f***in' for six minutes

On a song called literally "fuck you" (lyrics below)

Shut up, s***! You're causin' too much chaos
Just bend over and take it like a s***, okay, Ma?
"Oh, now he's raping his own mother
    Abusing a w****, snorting coke
And we gave him the Rolling Stone cover
    ?"
You're goddamn right, b****, and now it's too late
I'm triple platinum and tragedies happened in two states
I invented violence, you vile venomous volatile vicious

    On" criminal"

A lot of people ask me
    Stupid f***in' questions
A lot of people think that
    What I say on record
Or what I talk about on a record
That I actually do in real life
Or that I believe in it

He's very obviously sticking it to his critics lol

Not to mention the whole song "the way I am" in which he talks about being misunderstood by the public etc

Edit : I suggest you relisten to the album tbh

Those lines are in almost all his albums

I've never heard of Eminem and proof knowing eachother in high-school but let's do the math 🤔:

    • Eminem at 17yo dropped out of high school after failing ninth grade 3x

    • Google says they met in 1992 when proof joined their lil rap group with chaos kid

    • In 1992 Marshall would have been 20 years old (birthyear being 1972)

you use a random link from a random site to prove your dumb point

That something special got passed up on by damn near every record label/exec/a&r/weed carrier at the time

Even fat Joe who was close to big L (a true pioneer and lyricist of horror core rap) said no lmao

Idk the full story of why Eminem got signed but I don't believe the
"he was special" narrative when Redman, masta ace, E-sham, Big L existed before an Eminem was thought of

I personally think there was more to it like interscope records being in desperate need of a superstar so they threw a hail Mary and it worked. Idk though fr

You know how many people passed up on drake? Lol

Tyler spoke from the perspective of a disappointed fan. Eminem didn't listen to his critique and it came back biting him in the ass, now he stays bitter about how Jay-Z is more respected than him.

Earl did switch up on Eminem bc he's an intelligent and mature dude who can think critically, so he realized that all the loser s*** he was into when he was a teen was corny af and didn't wanna associate with Em and his lame fanbase. Meanwhile Eminem is still on the same s*** 2 decades later.

Earl and Tyler deserved the diss. They went out of their way to diss Em first and they are rappers lol

I'd like to know what deal he actually has with Shady. A lot of past signees haven't had actual deals but just distribution deals. Griselda for example never had an actual full signing deal with Shady, they only had a distribution one, which is why it was kinda ridiculous for them to complain about the label because it seemed like they didn't understand what their contract actually implied. Boogie is an actual signee and it seems like they've done fine with him and his album turnarounds and rollouts.
