I’ve never been a fan of Em albums like that

Eminem Show the only one that comes close to having no skips imo

But as kid I read magazines/articles a lot so I was into reading reviews. I remember Rolling Stone dropping that 500 greatest albums list. Couldn’t understand the appeal with the Em albums. My pops had MM LP and ES so I would revisit those albums tryna see if I was missing something lol

Think it has a lot to do with being alive and conscience around the time em was huge

A lot of the antics and music seem corny af now, but back then there wasn’t really a mainstream act sticking it to pop culture like that

So a lot of people gravitated towards him. People were tired of the boy band / girl s***

Haven't enjoyed an Em album in well over 10 years, but on a positive note Houdini is actually pretty good. That sample is crazy

Em has said that those were definitely made due to the leaks. He had to put the songs on the bonus disc. If they didn't leak, they'd be on the album

What he says and the truth don’t always align. Those songs were made 8 months after the leak, plus two of the worst songs on encore were made before that session.

That was at the peak of his pill addiction. I doubt he's lying, he's never really lied about his album processes

interesting moment here, from an interview in 2019, eminem says he's been chasing the Marshall Mathers LP and he says that when old fans want old Eminem they want the angry Eminem but he's not angry anymore but still passionate

this is the biggest problem with modern em, as he himself says he doesn't have the rage anymore

he still making some decent s*** but it's not like Peak Eminem and it's very hard to beat that... but maybe he can at least do some cool s*** on this last album

All the songs you listed on the last page are among the worst among on the album aside from Encore and possibly Mosh. It was clear he was d***ged out and didn't really care anymore

You can hear the 2003 version of Em vs the 2004 d***ged out version on the album pretty clearly

Encore is probably the best song on the album, what are you talking about?
Mosh, evil deeds and one shot 2 shot are all fairly good nothing amazing.
Just lose it is an even sillier than his typical first singles but still fondly remembered by the public and sonically well put together.
Rain Man is the best of the “funny” tracks on the album

The only two really bad songs from the session were big weenie and ass like that, which along with puke and my 1st single make up the bottom 4 songs on the album.

Yellow Brick Road was made in December 2003, 2 months after the leaks.

Mockingbird was made in April 2004, 6 months after the leaks.

And by the way only two songs ended up as bonus tracks from the leak anyways, and only one other one (Bully) was meant for the album.

So two of those songs were already replaced before that last session in Orlando.

In Orlando he made 8 songs that all made the album. So leaks aside he was 7 songs short entering that final session for the album.

Him blaming Encore on the leaks has always been a cop out for the fact he had made bad songs.

Encore sessions started with We As Americans (one of the leaks) in August 2002, more than two full years before the album. He made the majority of the songs in July 2004 just two months before the album was finalized.

If you put the three leaks that were supposed to make the album (We As Americans, Love You More and Bully) and take out My 1st Single, Big Weenie and Ass Like That it’s still by far his worst album at that point in time.

I said that the songs you listed were among the worst aside from Encore and possibly Mosh. Meaning, I agree with you that Encore is good

I disagree with you on Ass Like That. Ironically, he's doing accents like Relapse and it's still better than quite a few of the songs on that album

Yellow Brick Road is 2003 Eminem, which is exactly what I meant when I said you can hear 2003 Eminem vs. 2004.
I'm aware only two songs ended up on the bonus disc. All of them are better than the joke songs on the album

If "by that point in time" you mean SSLP, MMLP and TES, I would arguably rate it over SSLP still. If it released as intended it would outshine that project

    Childhood is idolising Eminem
    Adolescence is hating Eminem
    Adulthood is begrudgingly respecting Eminem

Some weird choices in your list of "good ones"

also Encore's "goofy" tracks being made due to leaks is a lie Shady/Aftermath told to justify how bad it was. Those tracks were made 8 months after the leak, and not all of them were goofy.

In July 2004 in Orlando to finish the album he made:

    • Evil Deeds
    • Mosh
    • One Shot 2 Shot
    • Encore
    • Rain Man
    • Big Weenie
    • Ass Like That
    • Just Lose It

half of those songs are (mostly) serious. two of them are among the better goofy/bad songs (Rain Man and Just Lose It).

puke and my 1st single were made prior to this session and are among the worst songs.

I think you meant to say 8 months before the leak

No. I mean he made the songs 8 months later, they weren't some scramble to replace the leaks.

    • Monkey See Monkey Do (throwaway/mixtape type track warning the industry Em was coming back)
    • We Are Americans (really good song, the first one Eminem made for Encore, released on the bonus disc as 'We As Americans'. This song got Eminem investigated by the secret service)
    • Love You More (also early track made for Encore, ended up on the bonus disc)
    • Bully (also early track made for Encore, Ja Rule/Benzino response, left off Encore entirely)
    • Can-I-Bitch (old Canibus response from 2001/2002 era)
    • Come On In feat. D12 (D12 World track that was still used and retitled 6 in the Morning)

These were all leaked individually in September 2003 and then packaged on a bootleg with the song Do Rae Me which was a Ja Rule diss track that released in April 2003.
This was one of the biggest leaks in music history, came from Eminem's little brother Nate leaving a disc full of Shady tracks made in late 2002 (also had 50 Cent demos but those never leaked since GRODT had already came out) in his car and his friend stealing the disc. The friend traded the songs with an internet warez guy who then got over excited and shared them with too many people. All of the songs leaked over the course of 3-4 days. The warez guy also had two more Eminem songs that he didn't leak.
