I recently got a kindle for my birthday after putting it off @op because I was one of those "I prefer books" kinda people and it was one of the best gifts I've gotten. You can download the Libby app and still support your library by checking out e-books through them. Good for reading through series of books and not having to constantly check out/buy new ones. Still have physical books I love but a nice alternative to that
Definitely physical books. Adds up to to whole experience. I love the smell of new book
I do have a Kobo e-reader. I use it when I’m on vacation and when the book I’m reading is really big and heavy. Not comfortable to read that in bed, I use my e-reader then. But if I like the book I still buy the physical copy
I could never do an ereader. But, yes, my life will be hell when I have to move, thanks to these books... And that’s before I get a third bookshelf, which I need now 😅

Idk how it is on kindle. It’s still kind of subpar on kobo but it’s not really the best experience

@op i got the same device you got, whats the best font config?
Reading in the dark and getting a book instantly. But nothing beats reading a real book.

PDFs? Jesus Christ...
E-readers so much more convenient. It’s not even a contest
Can put a thousand books on one device. Carrying around more than 2 physical books at a time is cumbersome
Can change font type, weight and size
Can read at night without a lamp
Easier to turn pages and keep track of where you are in a book too
Plus the thousands of free ebooks online
I love holding the actual book in my hand. Looking at the cover art, the smell of the new pages, and just the act of turning each page
It all goes in to the experience of reading
Most people I know who are staunch physical book readers who go on to actually try an e-reader usually do a complete 180 on their opinion and admit how good an e-reader is.
Kindle Oasis is one of my favourite purchases tbh. Pretty much an unlimited book holder that's easily portable.
