I feel like this is what Lana Del Ray fans think she is.

Why does somebody always have to make some bummy comparison like this

You rec this as a Lana fan? I listened to a couple of witch house songs last year and wasn’t feeling it

I'm personally not a fan of Lana Del Rey. I don't necessarily think that they're similar enough musically to say that if you like one that you would like the other. I definitely recommend giving it a shot though. It's a great debut.

It's a comparison based on my personal experiences, note the key words "I feel". You don't have my experiences, so you might have a different opinion. That's how the world works.

Alright I just finished it, pretty cool listen. Not sure where the Lana comparisons come from tbh, they both make dark pop, but this sounds closer to some singer-songwriter/alt-country sound
Finally got around to listening to this
She definitely went deeper in her southern gothic, country and christian iconography sound compared to Inbred and I really liked the change. Her song writing and vocal performances are absolutely amazing. She's always building up to something and her story telling ability really brings you in so you're always just sorta floating along with her voice and the story, it's beautiful.
I loved her sound on Inbred and there's a few songs on here that have that sound (American Teenager, Gibson Girl) and they stick out pretty noticeably, not in a bad way though. I definitely want to hear her do more of that sound cause while I do like the overall sound on Preacher's Daughter, I prefer the sound on Inbred.
Favorite songs: American Teenager, A House In Nebraska, Hard Times, Thoroughfare, Gibson Girl, Televangelism, Sun Bleached Flies
These dirt roads are empty
The ones we paved ourselves
Your mama calls me sometimes
To see if i’m doing well
And i lie to her
And say that i’m doing fine
When really i’d kill myself
To hold you one more time
And it hurts to miss you
But it’s worse to know
That i’m the reason
You won’t come home
F***, the most beautiful song she's written
She had one song at the height of the pandemic I used to listen to while zoning out at the park
American Teenager is my song of the year and I can't wait to bawl my eyes out to it when I see her next month 😭
