united and arsenal have been massively successful for years and built up their reputation worldwide, with that comes money and the ability to acquire players that would prevent relegation from happening. that is the reward for continued success and having a legitimate global following.
the current setup isnt perfect, and the clubs with the most money still dominate, but on their day any club can beat anyone. thats the magic of football.
losing is meant to hurt, thats what makes winning so great. if there is no penalty for losing then there is no satisfaction around winning. whats the point? a closed shop is so fundamentally wrong, its the complete opposite of what football means to me and most people.
What penalty do the big clubs have for losing? Everton are the only one of the teams that thought up the Premier League that ever came close to going down. United finished 5th in 2015, then went on to beat the World transfer record that summer, big clubs have no real repurcussions, and with Sky and BT's marketing machine that won't be changing for a long time, these teams are still being given prime TV slots despite being ass and playing gash a lot of the time.

united finished 5th, and then played in the europa league the following season. i think you just answered your own question.
I 100% agree with you on the spending as the Glazers are probably the worst business man in premier league history but you don’t think this kind of thing has taken a toll on us fans who base success on winning football matches and not how much money we have like your proposing?
I mean United fans where angered by the Glazers not spending enough going into the season, Liverpool fans been kicking up about signings the last few transfer windows.

Which Europa League team is breaking the world transfer record?
Which Europa League team is breaking the world transfer record?
what? you’re acting like signing a world class player is the same thing as winning the top prize in football, it isnt.
no real football fan would give a f*** about the price tag of any footballer on their team if it meant they won the champions league. you watch football in the hope of success, signing players is just a vehicle to deliver that.

I’m pretty sure we were angered by the business dealings of their buy high sell low policy more than anything and their inability to balance the books and now we have something even more mad to be angered at them for.Stop grasping at straws you went from changing the champions league and now you want to create a super premier league?

It goes a long way stratifying football further. And looking at how a section of Liverpool fans responded to winning the Champions League, I think signings drive modern football discourse, unfortunately. Apart from City fans, which of the big 6 teams aren't consistently crying about the need for signings.
And clubs outside the top 6 just can't ever hope to keep up.
Aye I made a video of my understanding of the Super League and my thoughts on it as a casual fan
I threw some of y'all KTT posts in this vid so just lemme know what y'all think of the vid or what y'all think of my thoughts

I'm not in favour of a Super League at all, my argument is mainly that the current football structure is inadequate as it is all the teams involved with the Super League are pretty much locked in for relative success no matter what. Have you seen the disparity in revenue between the big 6 and the other 14?
Although have to give credit to Spurs for finding themselves up there.

!https://youtu.be/dxcduwm7200They're not leaving their domestic leagues btw. They're leaving the Champions/Europa league.
I don’t like the comparison of the nba and the super league people are saying this super league trophy won’t mean anything like a nba title is ignorant. Just because in the nba there’s no relegation. I mean look at the Milwaukee bucks they’re a contender even though they’re a small market team and don’t forget about the San Antonio Spurs dynasty. It’s possible to be a small market team and win. The only nba comparison I see is maybe the super league would be like the cavs vs warriors era

Yea I f***ed that up
Yea I f***ed that up
It's all good. It's still interesting to see the views of someone outside of football.
I'm only 6-7 minutes in.

What about the Cavs versus Warriors Era

i dont understand how you’re arguing against what i’m saying. people want signings because a good team wins football matches. winning football matches - and by extension tophies - is the whole point.
do you think united fans are happy to be winning nothing despite having one of the most expensive squads on earth? obviously not.

You're a City fan, if I remember right, do you think City need should have to put the kind of money they've invested to break into what was then the big 4, is where my problem lies, football at the top is pretty much a locked system as it is. United and the Glazers haven't had any serious repercussions for going about things like a circus.
It just angers me when merit is brought up when big clubs are getting away with consistent non achievement as it is.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
