Idk. Feel like social media is just a reflection of you/your mind. You control 95% of what you see on your TL. Never complained or hated social media. I follow and look at things that inspire/educate/interest me everyday

This facts tbh tho. Soon as a see some bs hitting the TL that s*** get muted 😮‍💨 I don’t think a lot of people are aware that you can mute people/certain words from your feed now.

honestly the way our parent’s generation uses facebook is how it used to be back then, just good vibes and keeping in touch with people near and far. Cute lil life updates now and then but not really glamorizing s*** or putting on an act to impress others

I agree that everything has gone to s*** but you’re also in control of a majority of the content you get to view. Definitely consider unplugging for a couple weeks and see how you feel

Just peeped that dude deleted his post yeah my mom be on fb chillin posting gospel quotes/lyrics and just leaving nice comments on everyone’s page it’s actually really endearing

I went through and unfollowed/deleted most people that I personally don’t know, but even still I just see my immediate circle still adhering to these “rules” or “behaviors” that are normalized online. Just weird man. I respect people who post what they want just because it makes them happy or w/e

They now see every single thing through a political lens

Idk how many times I have said to my parents “why is that a thought in your head?”

I don’t think this is the angle of fake you’re getting at but it truly is. People post so much 🧢 on socials rather it’s their lifestyle, their political views, who they are as a person, etc. one thing I’ve learned over the years is a lot of this online SJW stuff is bs. The amount of people (mainly white women) I know that have moderate to large accounts online pushing progressive women or socialist movements do not move like that off socials. Actually complete opposite. Same thing applied to a lot of these “progressive” men just trying to get p****. All these alt people with BLM in their bios and filtered on their pics are hella racist. None of this s*** is real is my dude.

My boy who moved out to LA a few years ago when he blew up as a reactionary YouTuber moved back to our city. He posted a really interesting video about how the LA lifestyles you see online are mostly cap. How people pay ridiculous money just to go some place to take pics for IG to look lit and get engagement then be dead broke with nowhere to stay crashing on someone’s couch.

Maybe not as bad as I think.

But most of the kids that come for tutoring/workouts/tournaments only listen to music for external reasons.

Yeah man it’s disappointing. And I know it’s easier said than done especially when it’s ppl that are close to you but try not to get so hung up on what others are doing, I know there’s a sense of defeat in that but that’s just the world we live in today. It doesn’t make them inherently fake or bad people, kinda just the status quo
