    Do it, you'll generally regret the things you don't do more than the things you do. If nothing comes out of it then it's whatever but there's also a chance something good comes out of it. If you were cool with them at least pay that respect.

    Very similar situation actually with the parents of a guy I was with for 5+ years and his mom filled the shoes of my own. I was also 6+ months healing and moving on, went anyway, felt pretty trapped and sad, the mom cried.

    They weren’t moving but they had heard about my career aspirations (which she disapproved of) but at that point was none of their business. Was awkward and emotional and in hindsight I wouldn’t have gone despite my love for the fam.
