Because if it’s important enough to be a user and add other people you know why would you not? I’m just at a loss that it’s being treated as if it’s some deep methodology in who to add and not to add. If you’re on social media to interact with people you know, why would not you not have someone that knows you best? It’s not like she’s asking to dig through his personal messages, asking for him to post pictures, she’s just asking why he doesn’t accept her friend request. People are blaming the woman in the situation but her reaction is just based on his irrational attitude towards the situation

The only reason to add someone on social media would be to see what they like or what they post. Why is that such an important factor in a relationship that you'd break up with someone over it?

Nobody can answer the reverse question: What's so hard about adding her, if he has nothing to hide? He has nothing to lose by adding her

Maybe Frank wanted us to have these sort of conversations tho

Nothing is hard about adding her per se, but this reminds me of why you don't talk to the police. Why don't you want to talk to the police, if you don't have anything to hide?

Because I don't trust cops, and what they will do with that info. I'd trust my girlfriend if it's a normal Facebook account, there's nothing wild she can do with it. If I don't trust her enough, she's probably not even a girlfriend yet

Adding her as a friend doesn’t mean he has to plaster her and/or their relationship over it. My gf and I both have our own fb and operate independently of each other, but maybe she just wanted some more insight as to who he is as a person? Idk I guess I just don’t understand how people are acting like this wouldn’t be a weird situation if someone you’re in a relationship with is actively on Facebook but won’t even add you as a friend.

Would you want your girlfriend actively following all your posts on Ktt?

She probably left him because dudes who give off fake deep vibes end up being abusive later on in relationships.

Sure, but are people not allowed to have privacy within a relationship? If you'd like to keep privacy on social media that shouldn't make a difference if you're seeing someone everyday. I don't see how it's big enough of a deal that you would break up with them over it.

They are both in the wrong in that skit.

I guess this is the point of it, but by only showing us the guy's perspective, we kind of get into these arguments.

Maybe it's a general commentary on the state of miscommunication amplified by social media, distrust, the next song is "Close To You"

    More question to ask:
Do you actively tell your girlfriend about all of your posts on ktt. Or does she even know you have a ktt account?

I guess the point is that such problems didn't even exist 20 years ago. With social media, we have new opportunities, but also new problems we have to deal with. 20, 30 years ago nobody had to care about double-texting, being left on read, someone ignoring you while posting on their story, not accepting your friend request, not liking your posts...as if relationships weren't hard enough already, we have an additional digital layer to deal with, creating all new mind games

Maybe you have to deal with it if that's the sort of precedence that you're setting for yourself. I just don't see why people put so much into needing to be associated with each other on social media, go be with each other in real life not over the net, is that not what it's about at the end of the day?

You can think that way, and SebastiAn clearly did, but it takes two to tango, and a lot of women care about social media, as did his ex-girlfriend, hence the discussion we're having...

That’s moving the goalpost. My girlfriend is not an active user on here so it doesn’t really make sense in a correlation. If she were on here though I’m not about to block her or hide my posts though

    thats facts lol

if u cant even do something as small as following back on "fazebook" for ur partner than the relationship is either barely starting or its just garbage in general.

Its rlly a case of a dude choosing not to do a favor for his girl and justifying it with his bizarre psuedo-intellectual anti-technology beliefs. And honestly if u put ur weird ass baloney beliefs over ur significant other than thats rlly ur issue.
