My point is that theres no ethical way to consume meat unless you eat an animal that died in the wild via a predator or natural causes

Over half of the US funding for wildlife and ecological conservation comes from hunting licenses, ammo, etc. You can argue about the ethics of killing an animal but there is a huge difference between a murder and a holocaust. Not really a "lesser of two evils" scenario

We always going to eat meat as omnivores. No denying nature. I would be fine letting them live on the plains and we hunt them from that.
But logistically humanity as it's population won't let it happen. I would prefer free roam to let them live a full life then they can be killed.
