yea probably way down the road. ive been hearing about Bethesda, pre MSFT purchase, adding studios to their own portfolio and how it would speed up the timeline, but that never really came to fruition. the MSFT deal is still young, but overall it does not make business sense to release games so quick. if SF is 2023 ES6 will be 2028, and FO5 2030+. the goal is to for the game to have longevity and people playing it for 5+ years without feeling like they need a new game.

that being said, yea FO5 is prob in pre production of some sorts. I know they just did Boston, but i think NYC would be cool lol.

Starfield and ES6 tap into different audiences, so it makes sense to drop it in a few years

Not to mention any Bethesda fanboys will be buying both so they’re just making extra money not less

NYC would be amazing hadn’t thought of that

they could pull off those massive towers on next gen hardware too since it’ll probably drop around the ps6/Xbox series 2

you think? i view Bethesda as having a cult following. if you got hooked on one of their games, you've likely at least tried every subsequent game after. ik you referenced ES and Starfield, but sub SF for FO, and i'd be shocked if there was a large group who have only played ES without at least giving FO a chance. i do know people that preferred ES and couldn't get into FO though, they did try FO at the least.

did not see rest of your post, i still think ES and SF will be a solid 3-5 years a part. i also think they REALLY want to get Elder Scrolls right. SF was probably more far along come the MSFT purchase, and it's a new IP, so expectations are scattered. ES def was not as far along, is part of a long running legacy series with a massive following and with massive success, and add the middling sentiment with Bethesda after FO4 and 76... I think they will be taking as long as they see fit to get it right and make a huge splash with it.

that’s true for their cult following but these games are going to be coming to a lot of new people as well, ES6 will likely drop 14-15 years after skyrim so there’s a whole new generation really

As for the new fans who will be discovering Bethesda, fantasy and sci-fi generally attract different people

    That’s fair I enjoyed both a lot

Also wanted to mention that it seems like Fallout 5 will have the dialogue system of Fallout 3, which is great because fallout 4 was a bad direction

    Where'd you hear that from?

    Where'd you hear that from?

In fallout 76 (and now starfield) they’re moving away from the fallout 4 dialogue system and more towards something like 3 and new Vegas

It’s a good sign that they’re moving in the right direction at least

My realistic answer is 15 years from now but the optimist in me is hoping like 2030/31 at the earliest

I think ES6 has gotta be pretty far along by now, they’ve been in pre-production for 5+ years and most likely a lot of the workers from starfield are moving to ES6 now because they’re focusing on bug fixing and stabilizing the build in preparation for going gold.

They had the world built in the engine in 2018 when they showed the teaser, and they have a lot more employees than before when they made skyrim, not to mention the boost from Microsoft teams…

My guess is starfield in March 2023 then 2.5 years later ES6 in November 2025

far harbor one of the best expansions in the series tbh

You know what's crazy is I just realized I haven't played that one. I played the game in full before the DLC dropped and then did a runthrough of like probably two thirds of the game a few years later, but never got to doing that. I've tried to play it again a few times since but still never fully got back into the full swing.

Which isn't a knock at the game or anything, it's just a lot so it's hard to get myself fully back into it after the amount I've already played it

You say it's droppin 2027, I say it's def not droppin 5 years from now

So if it doesn't drop in 2027, any delay included then I win.

If it drops in 2027 or sooner then you win.

2027??? u lucky if elder scrolls 6 comes out 2027, this not coming out till 2030 at the earliest

Nothing hits like fallout for me

Probably because I played 3 during formative years but something about exploring with the old songs playing on the radio is goat. I know every word to every song in fallout 3 and just go into such a happy place

That’s how I feel when I hear this from Fallout 4. I’ll never forget hearing it for the first time in Christmas Day. Truly a vibe

    Yessss

I love the part at the end of this where she just says all the words of the song instead of singing them lmfao

Being in the wasteland and hearing ‘it’s the eeeenddd of the worrrrrlld’

The way they picked songs that all revolve around like apocalypse, war, civilisations etc was a stroke of genius (I know old songs from that time revolve around that because of the state of the world but it’s still so sick)

F04 definitely has some classics too, this one you posted I think is the best from it though
