Started a survival game on PS5

Never done survival before, heard you can never go back one you get hooked

I cant play it not in survival when i went back to 3 i had to have a surviva; mod its much better. I would just make sure the ammo you have is the ammo your guns use. Be strategic about what you engage because you can use up your good ammo really quickly in the beginning

    A few tips:

    1. Power armor is really important in survival, remember to exit out in towns and settlements so you’re not wasting precious battery life
    2. Grab empty bottles and fill them at settlements or water fountains in vaults for free purified water. Regular water fountains will give you dirty water. You have to drink constantly, since you get thirsty every time you use stimpaks or d****
    3. Sleep for 5 hours to get rested, if you sleep for 1-2 hours you wake up more tired, just like irl lol. If you’re worried about dying and losing progress look up a map of beds.
    4. The beginning of the game is absolutely brutal, but it starts getting much easier around 20+ when you have lots of good weapons and power armor. I always go high INT build in survival to level quickly.

excited to experience one of my fav games in this new way

Nah man survival is crazy so far

Feel like I gotta be mad careful with every step I take. Hesitant to do even the easiest early missions because I feel like I could get my head blown off and sent back to my bed so easily

    It's fire though

Pro-tip, there’s a perk called Lone Wanderer (3 CHR) that makes you take 30% less damage if you’re without a companion, but you can still get the bonus while traveling with dogmeat because he doesn’t count as a true companion. Super useful for the early levels, like 1-20 or so at which point survival will be a lot easier.

Word, I was thinking of getting that with my next level but have been traveling with Piper. Not sure she’s worth it currently though

Also, the no fast travel can be rough but also pretty damn cool cuz I’m running into scenarios/areas that I don’t even remember from my original playthrough(s)

Honestly she keeps running into combat and dying, which cost me so many stimpaks. Dogmeat on the other hand like temporarily disables people by biting them so he dies a lot less.

I recommend maxing piper’s affinity quick by lockpicking lots of stuff with her and then dumping her, she also usually likes sarcasm or offering help, the perk she gives at max affinity is quite useful.

If anything so far she's been a useful distraction I was trekking home to Sanctuary and ran into a yao guai and some raiders that would have definitely f***ed me up at my current level, and she took all their attention and died while I sprinted away

I've already had multiple absolutely insane moments in under 10 hours on Fallout 4 survival s*** is a movie

Last night I saw a Radstag Doe with almost no health on my VATS, I was like huh why is this thing so injured I don't see anything around? And walked up closer to it and a big ass Yao Guai came up behind me out of absolutely nowhere and mauled me to death

  • This is gonna be my first time playing this game. Downloading now
