NV fans, which order would you recommend doing the DLCs in? And is there anything I should definitely know beforehand?

You can do Honest Hearts whenever but,
Dead Money, Old World Blues, then Lonesome Road last.
Playing 4 now and yeah it doesn't feel right, setpieces, fixed paths, not being able to kill certain NPCs, V.A.T.S. being in slow-motion, the dialogue system, it making even less sense for your character to explore around the world when so much of his personality and quest is urgent and clearly mapped-out
I feel like this is gonna be a good action-adventure game, but it definitely lacks the good RPG elements of the earlier ones
Didn't play it for years because some a****** I knew spoiled it on Facebook when it dropped, reposted a short little video where a guy sang the ending plotline, never forgave him

4 had the best shooting mechanics across any fallout game plus it looked amazing. too bad there was not much to do there, I wanted to like it

Yeah the combat's very satisfying, they put a lot more thought into making weapons fun and interesting for sure
One thing I noticed after I accidentally turned on my controller while playing (I'm on PC), this game is TOTALLY optimised for controllers as opposed to keyboard + mouse, there are so many things in the interface that you would never design if you were thinking PC-first, but when I used the controller everything became way more simple, I think the game in general seems to adopt those kind of compromises for a wider audience

thats interesting, never would've thought. ui-wise I remember it being kinda similar to nv with some tweaks, but I dont recall exactly
cant not mention that I absolutely hate shooting in nv i recently finished Fallout Tactics too. just some of my random thoughts on fallout; its probably my favorite all-around video game setting and fallout 1 is in my top 5 games ever played

my biggest issue was the lack of quests (not including DLC)
im pretty sure I finished the game and like ALL none repeatable quests within like a month of the game coming out. def still such a fun game though

I just tried playing with a controller for real and it's so much easier man it's crazy
Like grenades used to work like normal weapons in 3 and NV, you'd select them, aim at an enemy, and fire. Here they're mapped to holding down left alt for some reason? Turns out holding the right trigger on a controller throws a grenade too, and it feels waaay more comfortable, you can definitely tell it was developed with controllers in mind
Wish we could just get Fallout 5

It takes place around a circular research facility and there are a bunch of lobotomites and cyborg dogs. Enemies keep multiplying and I feel like I'm running out of resources.

ohh old world blues
Alright, 4 is good, in a different way, but it's good, the world is really cool and the characters feel alive, but it's definitely an RPG in the loosest sense of the term
