one song i love from that era is everybody wants a chance to feel all alone, the acoustic performance, what rivers tried with the demo while i see what he was tempting really didn’t work out tho so i can see why he abandonned it but imo he should’ve revisited for the ok human orchestra themed it would’ve been amazing, or the acoustic album!

Dunkey has some weird takes. “Death Stranding bad, Last of Us 2 good”. I mean I respect it but they’re bizarre sometimes. I like that Nakey dude a little better, his videos are much longer tho.

I dont think thats a weird take, and I liked both games. never finished DS but i can why some people would hate that s***.

He’s criticized Naughty Dogs games design philosophy for a long time and all the sudden the one game the journalists and industry types are constantly going to bat for against all the criticism he’s suddenly totally on board with the same design which hasn’t changed at all. Kinda just seems like a way to keep a cozy relationship with those people and not come across as some toxic gamer bro. That’s what it read to me at least. Once you get millions of subscribers you kinda change like that. Sorry if I’m being cynical, still think he’s funny.

He could be taking a contrarian stance to stand out, who knows, but it all seems pretty genuine to me. A lot of people said the same thing about his FF7 review but I agreed with every point he made in that video

dunkey usually hates on games that feel rushed or are wonky mechanics wise
He’s rarely ever slammed a game purely because of the story. His beef is with wonky gameplay / rushed game development not narrative and its def a cause he feels passionate about since he tends to make videos entirely about it at times
In that sense it makes perfect sense why he would hate on DS and not TLOU2
