Even though Thom hates Britpop, I’m sure they were just playfully s***ting on each other

    Yup, right before Bloom started

Felt like I was roaming the jungle like in Apocalypse Now or Lost City of Z

Lost City of Z is better than elric's favorite movie that's not zerkalo or night of the hunter

Spinning Plates in my top 5. Such a unique and disorienting song in their catalogue

Pablo Honey is only horrendous if you’re directly comparing it to their later stuff that recontexualized them as a band. Aruji said this better but Thom leans into his emotions more and bellows out some beautiful notes. As overplayed as Creep is, that “run, run, ruuuuuun” part is as powerful as he gets. It’s a nice 90’s sounding album, got a bit of Britpop, a bit of Grunge, a bit of R.E.M. influenced alt stuff. It puts you in a time and place. It’s more successful at doing that than Hail To The Thief’s collage of ideas that don’t flow together.

    Blow Out is incredible

My college roommate was also a radiohead fan and he would play that song to keep me awake when I got black out drunk

sry but Oasis benefited heavily from a conservative government literally repressing artistic freedom. Doubt they would've become this big otherwise.

Not knocking anyone here but Liam

Severely doubt that because you could easily be talking about

    • the master
    • no country for old men

And those have been staples of my top 50 for years as well

Tarantino on Joe Rogan is worth a watch. He goes into his writing process in more detail than I’ve ever seen him do before. Weirdly almost got a bit weepy hearing him describing the magic of having his first kid. He’s like every day it’s laughing or crying watching this little person slowly realize they exist. Kinda dumb to be having a kid in your late 50’s tho.

Moon Shaped Pool was like their From Elvis In Memphis tbh. the point at which every other contemporary of theirs from the early days must have just heard it and been like

Tarantino is very much in a state of arrested development but also rich as f***. Better he raises a kid now with love he still has then become some Citizen Kane cliche.
