Has anybody been as goat then trash then even goater within as small a time frame as as The Doors?
Waiting for the Sun and Soft Parade
what in the world were they doing
Morrison Hotel and LA Woman :datass: too good
Waiting for the Sun is very good
Yeah he is pretty polarizing but Iggy formed the Stooges immediately after witnessing them and Patti Smith was an extreme stan and Lester Bangs and Shrek hated them more than anyone
some random examples. @Lawdie a big stan too.
They're a classic to me but the two middle albums are embarrassing
Well me and Shrek hated each other, so maybe I should rethink my initial aversion to them. Lol
Listening to solo McCartney stuff for the first time seriously and I’m surprised how much I like it. It’s not touching Harrison but it’s nice. Always felt bad for Ringo, he never had his solo classic.
i've come to realize i have a higher tolerance than most people for subpar music. it's pretty rare that something is outright trash to me, usually albums like Soft Parade just aren't good but don't offend me in any way
even Kanye's Nah Nah Nah which people act like is the worst thing ever made didn't offend my ears. and later career Beach Boys generally wasn't as awful as I was expecting
Same here. I’m growing more tolerant of even stuff I used to outright dislike.
tv or movies? have you seen The Wailing? korean horror flick that's a lot of fun.
Angel Heart with De Niro and Mickey Rourke
also Troll Hunter is so entertaining, ridiculous film but totally worth checking out. that would be my main rec cause it doesn't get enough love. something tells me you would like it
Lisa Bonet
Never got into them. Might have to revisit their stuff soon.
it's worth it. better late than never

I’ll always go to bat for Beach Boys 1985

I think I do too but Soft Parade has always made me want to :vom:
