Keith said in 1979: “Everybody thinks Mick and Keith are the Rolling Stones. If Charlie wasn’t doing what he’s doing on drums, that wouldn’t be true at all. You’d find out that Charlie Watts is the Stones.”
Makes me think of those occasional stones songs with either Mick or Keith missing altogether
Also a good amount with Jimmy Miller drumming instead of charlie though

"He was not the Stones’ first drummer. The band played its first gig in 1962, with the lineup of singer Mick Jagger, pianist Ian Stewart, guitarists Keith Richards and Brian Jones, bassist and future Pretty Things leader D*** Taylor, and drummer and future Kink Mick Avory."

find that hard to believe cause according to Paul in the early days John was basically Elvis to him and everyone. Also Paul barely ever sang lead till they got to the studio.

The reaction is gonna be nuts when McCartney dies
I have listened to so little music from the 2020s. Think my most listened to album so far is how I'm feeling now by charli. S*** bumps hard when I drive to work. claws>>>>>

Pop 2 still my fav, though I know you dont hold that one as highly as her other stuff. "Track 10" still the zenith.
