Way 2 Sexy is stupid but fun

He's pretty fired up on Industry Friends

Knife Talk is just about the most ridiculous gangster posturing wheelchair Jimmy could possibly attempt I do not have the patience to listen to this man flow over somnabulant beats like a simp about his shady friends and women anymore. and that's like eighty percent of the album.

    @Elric
My reassessment of Jesus is King after a few listens (first time listening multiple times since its release):

    • Every Hour: cool I guess
    • Selah: mixed feelings; cool build-up, but the lyrics are clearly rush edited from the original version. Vocals and rapping are very subpar
    • Follow God: unlistenable; that clipping in the beat still destroys my ears.
    • Closed on Sunday: chick fil a stuff is dumb, outro section is cool. Despite the rasp, Kanye showing his improvement as a singer.
    • On God: dumb lyrics, uninspiring rapping, cool beat
    • Everything We Need: this was quite pleasant on the ears actually. Best song.
    • Water: that beat be bouncing, great atmosphere, the Kanye verse throws it off a bit, though I guess it's more of a prayer than a verse... we'll let it slide
    • God Is: after DONDA, this is pretty good. 24 vibes, like a precursor to the heartache of Come to Life. Can tell it's a track actually built around Kanye's newfound love for Christ, not a Jesus-washed version of a previously secular song. A bit too much rasp.
    • Hands On: This and "Selah" are def the songs people talking about Kanye's rapping falling off at the time. Cool beat, bad writing. I like the outro.
    • Use This Gospel: f***ing terrible.
    • jesus is lord: Kanye forgot to finish this song

Definitely Kanye's weirdest album. Jarring, not sonically, but as a Kanye album. Feels like an extension of the mental health stuff he was going through with Jesus/God as his shrink. I think the Yandhi turned JiK songs are proof of Ye truly trying to wash away his sins and 'cleaning' these tracks were his way of cleaning his sins. Overall, inconsistent as f***, production easily the best part, Kanye struggles mightily at times and I think he truly loves this album cause it probably helped him through some hard times. I previously rated this a 4/10. I'll go as high as a 5 now

Man i could still listen to Follow God On repeat no idea what you're talking about

Also malice had a classic verse :yewhat:

"A lot of damaged souls, I done damaged those"

Real for the God Is reappraisal

the latter while I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. I believe Ye has his heart in the right place but he's still enabling patriarchal bs (don't get me wrong I don't think those articles attacking are totally justified. Much of it is pretty shallow). I think that it's def a good thing to forgive people but that's more on the part of the victims rather than Ye. and they don't want to and they have every right not to imo.

In short, this is delusional garbage imo

How does having Debaby on your album relate to the patriarchy? I agree with your broader point, I just don’t see how that adds up. Who are the victims of Debaby and honestly you could even ask who are the victims of Manson as there’s nothing conclusive about his case yet. Why are the people writing about this leaving off the fact Chris Brown is on the record. God what about Jay-Z who’s promoted like weapon manufacturers (could have sworn him and Beyoncé did a show sponsored by Raytheon). There is never any consistency in the logic of cultural critics. It’s just about what’s the new thing to be upset about as it gives them things to write about it. It’s all about the clicks and sanitizing your brand.

Man it's not cultural critics deciding for us that dababys remarks were medieval tier misguided and harmful. If you don't think a ton of kids will hear that s*** and believe it you're tripping.

And I cannot believe it took this long for Manson to get meetood, super troubling rumours swirling around him for ages. And I don't mean removing ribs and worshipping Satan.

I guess Malice renegaded, but it's not hard to renegade a weak hook, Pusha out his comfort zone and a laughably bad Kenny G appearance
