I don’t think media has nearly the influence you think it does. Art and artists reflect the material world, they’re not the orchestrators of it. It’s 99% reinforcement, which is essentially neutral. Nobody was won over by Debaby’s comments who didn’t already believe them. Gay rights are basically unanimously accepted at this point with entire months dedicated to their acceptance and almost every major corporation and politician on the left and right is in support. There’s absolutely no chance in hell what he said could put a stop to whig histories momentum. If you genuinely think the comments reaching impressionable kids ears is bad than if anything publishing and spreading them all over the internet is worse than just leaving a s***ty isolated event to be a s***ty isolated event. Controversy makes money for publications. Kanye’s forgiveness of these two individuals functionally does nothing. They are completely ostracized by the industry behind their medium of choice and their placement on his record isn’t going to magically reverse their circumstances. I was also simply asking Aruji what role the patriarchy plays in this discourse, not attempting to downplay anything these people have said or done but you would have had to read past everything else of what I was pointing out and only zoned into my agnosticism towards who’s a victim yet (something you’ve done with Bob Dylan) to think that’s what I was doing.
