Mad Men’s ending might be my favorite ending on GOAT TV show

It’s not too vague like Sopranos, and it’s not too dreadful-in the face like Breaking Bad, and it’s not too ‘and the life goes on’ without any closure like The Wire

It’s properly symbolic, properly continuous, connected with real life monumental event, such a beautiful closer

So happy that I finally finished this show.

Remarkable amount of layers to it as well, such as the mirroring of the entire series. First scene of the pilot is Don talking to someone in a generation older than him trying to get ideas for selling a product. Final scene is him being around a younger generation realizing how to sell a product.

i gotta check this show out still

disagree with the negative point of view on the Wire's ending. It encapsulates everything about what the show stands for. The Wire was always the most rooted in reality a show ever got and I think anything over the top, too dramatic or corny would have been an injustice to the show. The closure in The Wire is knowing that death is the only closure, and some characters received that unfortunate closure, while the world around them continued moving along. As is life.

I’m not saying I disliked the Wire ending tho, but it just makes me feel the end is too soon

Mad Men ending is probably the first one that I feel “okay, I can ACCEPT that the show ended” perfectly
