Dont you love how the production on Pronounced and Second Helping sound like that thick southern heat, while Street Survivors sounds likes clear winter nights with stars in the sky
Not a Deep Purple guy but This Time Around / Owed To G is masterpiece material.
They're one of the daddiest dad rock bands oat. Only CCR and ACDC are on their level when it comes to this imo but they def have great songs.
one of my favorite live albums that nobody other than me cares about is Blaze Foley - Live at the Austin Outhouse

this might sound weird but being german actually might have something to do with that
they were big here but i think they were on a higher level of popularity in Europe in general. i def dont think they would be one of the "daddiest" picks here outweighing some of the bigger ones like ACDC, Zeppelin, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Who, Stones. ik you're probably trying to talk more sound-wise but i don't think it's possible to fully separate a (useless) term like "dadrock" from one's individual perception of what it means
interestingly their most recent 3 albums all went number 1 in Germany and 2 of them went gold. while none of the 3 reached top 100 in US/Canada. i guess hard rocking German dads go crazy for deep purple

My dad considers CCR douchebag biker music and he always had a motorcycle after Easy Rider came out
