I could never tell the difference
tbh its something you might not notice but then when you see it pointed out it can be annoying. ignorance is bliss

I feel like Cheap Trick did this. I know KISS did it but I don’t care
yeah i listen to shorter drum solos like the studio one but im not always down for the 20minute extended one
Ginger Baker's solo on the Wheels of Fire version of Toad maybe the best long one ive heard
those half studio half live albums always bugged me for some reason like that, rattle and hum, ummagumma etc.
Sabbath live is always like double or triple the speed because they were all coked out of their minds
cream had 2 i think
severe tire damage was miserable
havent heard that one but there are definitely certain types of bands I don't even bother to check out a live album from
need there to be some significant difference to the studio versions, im not a fan of live albums where they just perform the exact arrangements
only heard a few 90s live albums

Yeah they have to spice it up a bit, or just have crazy energy for me to enjoy it

yeah the Kiss Alive crowd noise isn't too obnoxious and i can tolerate it since the difference from the studio versions of those songs is worthwhile
i havent listened to it very much but I wasn't really into the Cheap Trick canonized live album much because of the crowd noise volume, even if its a real crowd
woah this looks crazy. this horror?
Really unsettling psychological horror joint and one of the best depictions of schizophrenia. Like I said the sound design in this joint
crowd annoys the s*** out of me on James Brown's Live at the Apollo and I don't enjoy it
i understand that it captures the live energy but i dont want to hear people screaming in my ears.
Jerry Lee Lewis live album was ruined by one annoying f***er whistling super loudly the whole time

The vu live album where ppl are talking next to the mic
Live Cream is amazing
Only way to listen to their songs
i could bet that for almost every band out of the 60s lol

ngl some of the histrionics on here bother me a bit
like in Strange Kind of Woman where GIllan is screaming in response to the guitar for like 3 minutes
thick bass, paice murdering s*** as usual
Not a Deep Purple guy but This Time Around / Owed To G is masterpiece material.

Imo Opeth live joint is one of the best in metal especially for growled vocals and the cleans sound
i'm gonna start calling albums "platters"

interesting choice
