My boy Rob Sheffield speaks of them in the same hushed tones as Dylan and Beedles so always meant to go deep on them

imagine if they turn out to be goats

they kinda fell out of my mind for a long ass time and i didnt realize they were as big as they were

except when its both new wave and post punk at the same time :ohno: many such cases!

That’s why my playlist for it is called New Wave + so I can include everything from Joy Division to Wham. It’s a vibe more than anything.

You should dive in. Trent Reznor said he wished he was a member of the group growing up.

The deluxe edition of their debut has more tracks than the standard

Ngl lately I'd take a handful of other chicks over Madonna when it's album time

Still the queen of the single tho

It’s on shuffle and I can skip what isn’t working for my mood at the moment. It’s easier than precisely separating songs on albums from bands that either fit into one category or the other. I also include goth and even some indie jangly rock that’s somewhat in the same ballpark. It’s basically just late 70’s to early 90’s music that overlapped in styles and influences.

    Taylor Swift - 6/10
    Fearless - 8/10
    Speak Now - 8.5/10
    Red - 9/10
    1989 - 9/10
    Reputation - 6.5/10
    Lover - 7.5/10
    Folklore - 7.5-8/10
    Evermore - 7.5-8/10

thats a strong discography, especially when you consider that all the albums are like 1hr+ long and there are also some bonus and vault tracks. and still best as a single songs artist like Madonna. assuming some of those will probably grow on me more too as they settle

I would’ve been a diehard Swiftie if Reputation was full Carly Rae synthpop like this

The best Taylor material is Ryan Adam’s cover album of 1989
