Hey "Charles Manson made good music" Fella
Wow something I said 10 years ago being brought up because I don’t like a bands most dissident record.
Here She Comes Now
Never could fully get into it. It doesn’t stink, I’m being hyperbolic. Just doesn’t resonate with me like their other records.

Man it's a joke, WL/WH can be pretty divisive for sure. I would personally consider it a top 10 album ever. Was meaning to listen to that Jackson C Frank album you mentioned cause I know a couple people voted it high last time

You can't appreciate the chaotic brilliance of "Sister Ray"?
Also I’ll double down — now that more evidence has come out that Manson was an MK Ultra victim propped up by the CIA to undermine the hippie movement — that yes his music was good. Notice how it didn’t make my 70’s list though.

Like I said, I was being hyperbolic. There’s some strong moments on there, I just haven’t heard it in full in years. Of course I will revisit for the 60’s list. I’m sure I’ll appreciate it more now.

I like it a lot but it's still my least favourite of their classic albums and I hate The Gift so so much

Rasie and I had an agreement that we both listen to The Gift more as an instrumental and the monotonous storytelling tone becomes an oddly wonderful background noise to the great guitar improv over the repetitive rhythm. I used to be in your boat as well
He can’t sing for s*** and his rapping is as boring as ever. Having this and 808s in the same sentence is silly.
I dont even understand why its being compared with that so frequently. Just like i dont understand why people are convincing themselves that this is extremely different or "a left turn", in general or for Drake.

It's a left turn if you're a Drake Stan who has listened to CLB for the last 8 months
Impossible to decide between WL/WH and &Nico
. VU&N arguably got more classics and for sure variety but the really grimy, almost proto-industrial muddiness of WL/WH is so addictive + Sister Ray might be the greatest song ever made.
Lady Godiva's Operation too potent as well
I think WL/WH might outrank Nico on mine this time around
The Velvet Underground 1969 is the one for me but they're all great except for Squeeze.
