I think they make music I admire more than I enjoy now. It's all really impressive and they're super talented dudes but it's just not enjoyable for me

The decades of relentless advertising using early ‘60s BB music and image didn’t help their legacy either. Especially when other rock bands transitioned in and out of the hippie era so much better.

Yeah I can see that, their music's progressively gotten more crazy lol.

My mate saw them at Glasto and he loved it, tons of energy and they seemed more comfortable on stage. I gotta try and see them soon tbh and still need to watch some of the performances from Glasto. Missed out on one of their early performances at The Windmill in Brixton, was gutted.

What I call Post-Brexit scene, just loads of bands emerging with potent spoken word and angst.

Spiritualized album from this year is really good and this song in particular is f***ing amazing

Been reading a ton of archival interviews and stuff and alot of people already thought they were square by 1966 and some of the early fan/peer reactions for Pet Sounds were not glowing. Jagger had a particularly brutal interview in '66 where he let Dennis have it for being a s*** drummer
