@Koala thoughts on this? Imo it's some real p**** s***. People can't take a joke, and no offense to the LGBTQ community, but they gotta learn to laugh at themselves like every other group, race etc that get made fun of in comedy acts

Never forget the time I lost a friend in the LGBT community when I said about one of her 'they/them' friends. "I thought they were a she cause of the mannerisms and appearance." With certain people/groups, thin ice is thinner than others the friend I was referring wasnt even offended by it

I can't find a quote guess I saw a comment regarding his comments and opinions about them in the past. Whatever agenda he has I don't know, but I've seen specials with Louis CK saying "N****r f****t c***" and he didn't get canceled till the jerking off stuff

There used to be an understanding in mainstream comedy that if something is ironic or hyperbolic it’s acceptable. I think in most circles people still get that, it’s really just a small loud minority that catches the ear of parts of corporate and then it filters back out through media publications who over inflate it. Then there’s a kind of person who wouldn’t have noticed or cared who then is alerted to this “controversy” by reading headlines and to feel like they’re on the right side of history fall inline with who they perceive as the good guys. Then there’s twitter bots who make things even bigger. It’s just a whole inorganic mess.

Tbh I'm surprised this is really still a thing with Dave Chappelle, like after the Netflix situation I figured it ran its course. I would be annoyed if I bought tickets but Minneapolis is a goofy place so maybe its not surprising

Ill tell you what, for years I worked retail with plenty of LGB people and damn near all of them had a sense of humor, weren't offended at anything, and hardly ever made their sexuality a focus point. The only problem I ever had was with some ultra woke white girl who was a new sexuality every other month :oblivious:
