The thing about Trump that’s actually somewhat positive looking back is he doesn’t actually believe in anything. He’s like politically fluid depending on who likes him. He released non violent criminals from jail simply because Kanye sucked up to him and asked him to. His vague illusions to populism sometimes had him overlapping with Bernie Sanders on issues like trade and foreign policy.
Jul 21, 2022·2 repliessuzukithe fact is washington is an absolutely reprehensible hive of scum and villainy. his messaging in 2016 was populist and anti-politician, most people hate politicians. when he got in office and appointed a bunch of bush-era neocons to his staff/cabinet, that was very different to the messaging of his campaign and a betrayal of what he ran on, the first of many.
despite that, he didn't start any wars sending poor people to far flung corners of the globe to die for oil companies, so automatically is better than bush.

its so hard to say. all of the luminaries of the republican party will come out hard for desantis, trump will have to go full populist once again and declare war on the Neocon/establishment side of the republican party, and at that point who can say how the base will react. trump had a large part in getting the COVID vaccines ready, and Desantis will use that against him. i dont know how the republican base feels about the chaotic last few months of his presidency either, if they still all think it was stolen he has a chance.

Honestly no but I could be wrong. If he does I think he’ll win if his competition is Biden. I think he only lost last election because of covid. My biggest bleeding heart liberal friends and family who supported Biden don’t even like him at this point. He’s asleep at the wheel. His approval ratings are really low across the board so if Trump’s ego sinks in he might step up and try to get a comeback.
