Read an article pretty recently about what the protocol was for when the Queen dies and it said that when George V was on his deathbed (in the 1930s or something) they pumped him full of enough cocaine and morphine to kill him in time for the newspapers to report properly on it the next morning

I will say though when I was in the hospital after my car accident, morphine was amazing. Like a warm bath flowing through your body. You just sink into your bed, best sleep I ever had. It totally made me understand heroin addicts.
