Very BasedLearned this today. Apparently Akira Kurosawa attempted suicide by slashing his throat 30 times. His wife encouraged him to as well, and would serve him a meal before dinner every night that samurai were often served before committing seppuku. And when he was making Ran (while blind), his wife died, halting the production for one day to mourn before going back to filming.
Ain't it a cold world.
