Yeah the FBI and CIA rule. I love Jack Ryan movies.
Get back to us when you start listening to singles.
You've missed my point completely congrats

"I am perfectly made.
I can wax eloquent on complex legal issues in English, while also belting Guayaquil de is Amores in Spanish.
I can change a diaper with one hand, and console a crying toddler with the other.
I am a woman of color. I am a mom.
I am a cisgendered millennial who has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.
I am intersectional, but my existence is not a box-checking exercise."

I cried laughing when I first saw that
60s may be top heavy but let's not pretend it's nearly as deep as any other decade and I don't care how many average obscure psych bands that sound the exact same you pull up
i wouldnt say top heavy but i agree that there is just more music in general as the decades progress. im not sure the difference would be noticeable in even like a top 1000 list but beyond that it might be. once you get to the huge amount of obscure stuff
60s is the deepest decade for jazz though and that does count for a whole lot

I use to feel the way Galaxy felt about the 70’s until I dived more into it.

I'm glad a level headed 60s enthusiast can see the point I'm making instead of some "tell us when you start listening to singles" retort as if that had anything to do with my point about the overall progression of music distribution and creation of subsequent genres. The overall quality is up to the listener obviously (and I agree Jazz is objectively GOAT in that era compared to any other era but for many, Jazz can be very mood based. It def adds a s***load of value to the decade if you actively listen to alot of jazz) but there's quite objectively more and more music to digest as time goes. Self-released music also helps contribute to that since the internet era began

I can acknowledge that alot of 70s stuff just isn't for me but there's a whole lot to unpack from that decade. I wasnt using my personal opinion for my 60s argument (ok maybe the psych comment was worded that way but not my intent. )
One of my favorite albums of the 2010s is some Estonian chick on violin mixed with electronic arrangements and she only has like 800 twitter followers. The possibilities for music exploration are endless nowadays. This is my point

I think that’s sort of the problem. It’s a lot of people trying things that aren’t refined that ultimately blow in the wind. There were more relatively focused sounds before that have had decades to sink in and evolve. So much feels algorithmic and inessential.

That's your personal view on it. For all you know there is some all time GOAT on bandcamp with little to no audience. There's a lot of watered down s*** thanks to the internet and especially everybody on soundcloud who thinks they can rap, but it also enables so many artists to potentially showcase their talent
this is all i could really come up with for the 60s so i might not even make a real list bh

yeah i mostly agree but i do just think that dropoff would appear so far down the list that it barely matters realistically
theres also probably something worth mentioning about non anglo music in this convo too but idk specifically. like im sure there are many countries where the stuff being recorded and released now is just on a different level than it was in the 60s in terms of sheer amount. African countries in general has always had amazing music but i'm sure that the growth and modernization every decade since then has made it ridiculously deep at this point in time
every decade is the same
More beers
I had plans to see my mother yesterday so I had to be awake and coherent.
Otherwise, yeah

I’ve noticed I don’t have a lot of black artists on my lists until hip-hop is more prominent. I don’t connect with too much Jazz outside of the obvious masterpieces and R&B I’ve gone over my problems with numerous times. I feel like I’m missing out.

it took me a lot of work and time but i can't stress enough how good it feels for jazz to fully connect. its like a whole world of music being opened up

I feel like you’d dig old school blues since you gravitate towards downer music
