I honestly just can't be bothered with the 50s. Might be the album purist in me
Then how do you take it as an insult when I say that you're missing out on the singles era
it's just a fact
I feel like I barely scratched the surface of my reasoning but thanks
I respect your pure dedication to the 60s and the effort you put in to dig so deep but I'm sticking by my argument that because of its work as the most groundbreaking decade, every other decade after will, in a way, by sheer quantity have more to offer. And at that point its a matter of opinion
On the final season of Breaking Bad now. He really does become a cartoon super villain, working with neo Nazi’s and s***. Galaxy was right about that. It’s like the writing got really sloppy and Gilligan was over correcting for the people who thought Walt was a badass. There was a lot more time before giving him little moments of sincere vulnerability and showing his sense of conflict over his actions. Now he’s just full blown monster.

Imo at least for rock and roll and the type of r&b I like the 60s was overwhelming in both its quantity and quality as far as I can tell
not being argumentative I just like that classic rock and soul and after all these years I still haven't scraped the bottom of the barrel. Even the 90s rap and 2000s rock I grew up on and should be biased toward don't have near the infinite fascinating well of music to dive into.
Synth pop was almost as exciting as far as the bleeding edge of technology coinciding with the top of the pops

I just think of the scene where he struts into the Mexican d*** dealers office and blows everybody including himself up. Took that show to a whole other ridiculous level that Sopranos never approached.
BB had an entire episode where they hunted a fly
Sopranos had goofy s***, but BB went straight up Scooby Doo at times
He doesn't acknowledge any of this because it's not on scaruffi album list
If all i do is look at scaruffi album lists then why did i bother to ask you for recs?

The director of your favorite film (The Last Jedi) directed that episode.
The amount of 60s unsorted music is also endless. With country, rockabilly, gospel, soul... Things that were released as a b-side on some independent label, then only reissued after 30 years on a german CD. Sometimes not even that. Not to count s*** on labels like Folkways, which makes it even more open.
This monolith of a song only has 100 views on youtube.
I was advertised a monolith and am mildly upset. Still a good song though

I mean 90s rap is pretty overrated imo, my favorite decade is rap is probably 2010s
@RASIE recent HNDRXX re-listen was
def my fav Fewtch
Okay but every other decade is still deeper and you have no way to disprove that since you've spent 90% of your life marinating one decade
I have about;
50 albums from the 50s
600 from the 60s
400 from the 70s
200 from the 80s
160 from the 90s
120 from the 00s
120 from the 10s
@Galaxy I think this proves us both correct in that I haven't gone deep enough on the last four decades but also the 60s is indeed an infinite well across all the genres.
I think the baby boomer population increase of musicians in their prime 20 years after the war makes your point about their being more genres less statistically valid considering their were less people to make them.
Also the '50s and '60s were a time of great prosperity for the middle class which allowed a lot more kids to f*** around in the garage and focus on their music instead of having to pay the bills which a lot of the subsequent generations had to do.

The recs you largely ignored? :elon: last I heard you didn't check many of them out

I think our numbers from 60s to 10s are pretty much inverted
although probably less because of age and I also have extreme bursts of despair abs put zero effort into anything including finding music. These sometimes go on for months.

see what I mean about the baby boomers in the age of prosperity though? Being able to d*** around and hone your craft back in the day was a lot easier. And because there were thousands of more bands you had to be that much better to rise to the top.
There were probably a thousand new bands after the Ramones and Pistols came out but there were probably a million after Elvis and Beatles were on Sullivan cause there were more people and they werent as broke

Because of you I listened to:
Byrds
A bit of Yardbirds
13th Floor
That Pretty Things album
Buffalo Springfield
More kinks and recently re-appreciated Village Green and put it on my list
Beau brummels
Re-listened to Beatles with a less harsh approach (and got more of an appreciation for Rubber Soul (which ended up with me s***ting on Revolver)
And I still have the list you gave me, I'm just taking a quick break from 60s. There are 2 months left and I will more than likely give more of your recs a listen. Of course alot of stuff I just recently listened to wont make my list cause I've hardly any time with it but I've been grabbing From your list so I don't wanna hear it

And I'm f***ing AWFUL at taking people's recs and committing to them so the fact that I've still got the list and am actually listening to them shows I'm at least trying

You should also dive into Back To Mono for the sake of the single
since I know you're not about to listen to actual albums by the crystals, ronettes etc
