well I got supremely bored with Bioshock very quickly. Every hack is the same annoying puzzle, the weapon/tonic switching is counterintuitive, I'm really not a fan of the combat, hate how sparse the looting is and how everything reams you in half a second. Maybe I'm just bad but it's annoying and frustrating and not fun to me. Cool atmosphere but I really f***ing hate the gameplay at this point. oh well, bought it for cheap.
Also the amount of ammo types to switch through and the expectancy to switch between tonics and weapons in each battle is annoying.

    Damn

I forgot what it was exactly that turned me off but I remember just kinda getting bored with it. I got up to the greenhouse area and saved one of the creepy kids. Not sure how far in that is.

I’d recommend giving Bioshock: Infinite another try. It’s mechanics are much simpler and refined overall—which fits that games flow more and the ending of it has you wanting to go back to the original. After beating 1 I’d then try 2 because that has the most mechanical depth.

I think I got one area further. Yea the greenhouse area had a really boring final objective and the new area didn't redeem it. By far my biggest qualm was the hack puzzles all being the exact same thing over and over

Think I'm off the Bioshock train for now but preciate the rec.

It frustrates me that I don’t see what other people see in Some Rap Songs.

There's like 2 or 3 meh songs but a lot is brilliant

What’s brilliant about it. It’s so short and yet so monotonous.

    Always is

Significantly worse now though. I’ll take the old established canon over this.

Yeah i replayed it a few years ago and felt pretty much the same. The atmosphere and art design is by far and way the strongest parts of the game.

These are the only songs I don't like and the last one hits hard in the album context. The rest are just good flows over good beats. It's aged remarkably well for me compared to most other stuff that's came out the last 6 years

Atmosphere and art direction goes a long way in games for me. Moving through interesting spaces does a lot. The best mechanics in the world do nothing for me if they’re not contextualized by something engaging.

I agree but the gameplay needs to be fun and engaging too or I might as well just watch the cutscenes on youtube

The way Dark Souls tells its story through the environment, bosses and scraps of dialogue is probably my favorite game universe

I love the aesthetics of most Soulslike games and the way they tell story through the environment, but I just know I’d be really bad at them.

    Definitely.

My first experience with The Last of Us was just watching it as a 5 hour cutscene I eventually played it which made it better but you could totally just watch it as a movie, it's that good
