Follow God so amazing in da whip
Yeah I haven't felt this cool while driving in a minute
He's a hyper deliberate dude and he gave us exactly what he wanted to of these songs. He didn't keep blowing past concrete release dates to just finally say f***it and release it before it was exactly what he wanted.
Well if this is the case it's a damn shame
He could've retired after MBDTF and been the goat tbh... every album after that has just been a victory lap icing on the cake etc and I am grateful he's still making albums at all let alone s*** that moves me like this
imagine if he left social media permanently after the pablo tour breakdown, didn't talk politics or drop ye
would be the goat rn

Ummm we needed ksg in this world though

only said if he didn't drop ye
easily could've given those and nasir's beats to kacy hill and cyhi

beats on ye sound pretty lifeless though, they were specifically made as the backup rushed version of the original album
Ok I'm not that fond of the kenny g moment tbh. Literal any other sort of Kanye style instrumental bridge would've been cooler.

The transition is abrupt too, feels pretty forced
You think "Follow God" sounds finished? Or "Closed on Sunday". Or "Everything We Need". The way he presents these songs would make me think there was more to go off of but couldn't think of anything and said f*** it I'll release it anyway.
Compare that to a short song like FSMH1, Feedback or Freestyle 4 and the difference is night and day.
yes I think they sound finished (besides the s***ty production)
just because they are short or more sparse than his past albums doesn't mean they aren't finished or sound any worse
i don't see why you have to compare it to those songs? might as well compare it to Lil Jimmy (Skit)

Comparing it to skits is not even in the same ballpark you weirdo.

agree. but i do appreciate the uniqueness factor, and i like the song otherwise.
it made me laugh first listen. its f***ing weird

why compare it to the other songs? how does that make it sound different?
and why Freestyle 4 of all songs??? to me, that seems as "unfinished" and vignette like as JIK by your standards, just in a banger format

I compared it to freestyle 4 because it is equally short as most jik songs duh.
Freestyle 4 actually sounds like it b was meant to be that way. Imo a few of the songs on jik do not do that.
We never gonna agree on this so stop pressing me. I've explained what I've meant already
I've always wanted an album to be the opposite of MBDTF from Kanye. 15 to 20 vignettes that flow as smooth as butter from one track to the next. Kinda like Madvillainy or XXX. I suppose TLOP was close to that in a way

you just say it "sounds like it was mean to be that way" cuz you like it more

need a Kanye grindcore album

You're just projecting now though but ok. Freestyle 4 has a great buildup before going absolutely manic and wild and ending with that propulsive beat. The only thing that sound unfinished on F4 is the transition at the end. It would be perfect transitioning to Waves instead of I Love Kanye.
As an example of a short song on JiK that sounds complete, I'll use On God. Gets his point across and the music feels like it effectively drove the song to where it needed to me.
The way Closed on Sunday is constructed makes me feel like I didn't get the whole thing. It has a nice beat change and a few nice lines but it stops before it can go to some really insane levels of pathos.

i see what you're saying but tbh i'm surprised you think On God sounds finished
did you ever listen to any of the leaks/yandhi s***? i havent but was gonna check em out

Yea i did listen to the leaks. A few nice ideas. Slave Name could've been a banger. New Body trash

obv it gets points for the sheer ridiculousness of having the clipse finally reunite beside a kenny g solo but its probably gonna get old fast

thanking god new body got cut now that ive heard it

It still would’ve been a cool move to give the spotlight to all his lesser known artists like he did for Teyana
