UIPYO WTF that LUM comparison makes complete sense, i hadn’t even put that together yet but Frog On the Floor is my fav as well and i can totally hear the similarities especially in the melody
other favs probably 757 and Most Wanted Person
but yeah totally seems less like them f***ing around and more like their best attempts at making music they’d actually wanna listen to
I also have a weirdly soft spot for I Got My Tooth Removed and I love how the riff of Hollywood Baby mirrors the riff of Dumbest Girl Alive.
Also wild, but I hear early Chili Peppers and Pop Group in some tracks as well.
Most wanted person is such a dumb but insanely catchy song. Really like it too.

yeah i noticed modern country (since the 90s) has basically absorbed a lot of rock. what is would have been called country rock back in the 70s is now just country. I gotta put you on to the young goat Zach Bryan then. writes songs at the pace of springsteen and became one of the biggest country stars despite not being part of the nashville machine. im seeing his arena tour in August. fervent fanbase of people that know every lyric too
he dropped 2022 AOTY with a sprawling emotional 2 hour exploration of americana styles. cracked the billboard top 10 pop chart with a drumless country folk song

for some reason they managed to screw up every breaking wave again. i remember there being full band instrumentation added by fans on youtube back then that had much better arrangements than any version U2 put out.
