The daughter in that might be the worst character in fiction LOL nothing redeemable or sympathetic, she just sucks and makes the movie annoying to watch

Who was redeemable in that movie besides maybe the main guy?

There were characters that didn't make me want to smash an ice pick into my brain but she wasn't one of them

I think her character is supposed to be someone who chooses honesty over decency all the time. Which is very pretentious.
It’s at least acted well, way better than anything from that goddamn Netflix show.

I feel like she gave up and just wanted to care in any way she could that he would actually be receptive to
Been going through some albums from 1998 and the record Phantom Planet Is Missing by Phantom Planet is probably the catchiest power pop I’ve heard in a long time. You Were A Diamond by Clem Snide is also a gem — it’s somewhere between Neutral Milk Hotel and Ryan Adams.
I also tried Rufus Wainwright’s debut and it was very good, but it felt as if half the songs were like him being handed a lush arrangement with him simply singing over it for the sake of singing well. Like he doesn’t have any structured idea in terms of direction or melody going in and he’s just going with the motions of what he’s working with. Even a grand piece like the track Barcelona impressed me on the surface, but left me kinda empty when it was over. So much of it feels like beautiful music spinning it’s wheels.

Yeah him and Robbie Williams seemed to be doing that same thing and I wasn't into it.
His dad is the og. Was gonna start checking him out when I get to 1970.
yeah i noticed modern country (since the 90s) has basically absorbed a lot of rock. what is would have been called country rock back in the 70s is now just country.
I gotta put you on to the young goat Zach Bryan then. writes songs at the pace of springsteen and became one of the biggest country stars despite not being part of the nashville machine. im seeing his arena tour in August. fervent fanbase of people that know every lyric too
he dropped 2022 AOTY with a sprawling emotional 2 hour exploration of americana styles. cracked the billboard top 10 pop chart with a drumless country folk song
