@Aruji these Shaking the Habitual re-listens continue to be fascinating. I can't decide if I'll put this in my top 25 or somewhere in the 60s, or in between. "A Tooth For an Eye" and "Full of Fire" would both contend for a top 20 spot in 21st century songs, while the rest of the album kind of peaks and valleys all over. Even the stuff I'm indifferent to is at least interesting. Forgot how long half these songs were lmao. If this was an 8 song album of the very best songs it would probably be a top 10 album of the century for me. But maybe my personal omissions would disrupt the album's pacing idk

    Song rankings

    1. A Tooth For an Eye
    2. Full of Fire
    3. Raging Lung
    4. Wrap Your Arms Around Me
    5. Without You My Life Would Be Boring
    6. Ready to Lose
    7. Stay Out Here
    8. A Cherry on Top

    9. Old Dreams Waiting to Be Realized (itd growing on me a lil)
    10. Networking (this one grew off me lol, still unique and interesting)
    11a. Crake
    11b. Oryx
    13. Fracking fluid injection (still terrible)

just started listening from Old Dreams onwards.

Stay Out Here actually benefits from being this long. It doesn't get as intense as say Raging Lung, Full Of Fire or Tooth but it's frenzied structure works well as a sort of culminating (or better dissoluting) point of the album. I also love it's sort of eclectic nature. Fracking Fluid Injection just fits so well after that.

Idk I love that album to death. It's a masterpiece to me.

EDIT: one could argue that Stay Out Here's sound palette/synths are a bit too monotonous aka don't have enough depth. At least that's what I'd level at it but once again. I think it works well due to it's placement in the tracklisting.

This one's pretty famous. He basically did it as an experiment to prove Italian kids were so obsessed with america they would buy anything that sounded like it was from the states, even if it was pure gibberish (which it was). Amazing video too.

Saw this a while and it's been stuck in my head for months until I just heard it again on Ted Lasso @twinkletoez

It’s essentially here’s “the predictable rise core” song y’all don’t really like but you like him more than me so you’ll tolerate it, then some indie record no ones ever heard of, then the typical Nick Cave pick, and then some 60’s rock gem that Elric or RVI dug up. Maybe a rap song that deadpeg put on by a d*** dealer who recorded it borderline passed out on percocets. Maybe that’ll mix it up. Or we could just bully some random dude who came in cause he played a Deftones rip off a couple times into leaving. I’d rather just listen to music with people offline at that point.

  • I F***ING FOUND IT!!!!!!
