sheesh you like this one better than NFR? i can level, it might be better than the last two
nah it's her best since. counted that spoken word album.
so far I'd say
Ultraviolence
Honeymoon
Norman F***ing Rockwell
Did You Know
Born To Die
Chemtrails Over The Country Club
Lust For Life
Blue Bannisters
Violet....
NFR and Honeymoon are interchangeable.
Born To Die contains a few of her very best tracks but I remembered it having a few obnoxious tracks. It needs a relisten anyway.
Attended the CMT Music Awards tonight since it was held in Austin this go around. It was pretty damn excellent (awards show banter aside that was pretty hit-or-miss). Seeing the likes of Shania Twain, Gwen Stefani, and Megan Thee Stallion up close/in-person was absolutely wonderful
@Very_Based feel like you'd dig this if you haven't heard

Haven’t seen that in so long
listened to Ultraviolence in full for the first time in years.
Cruel World, Shades Of Cool, West Coast, Sad Girl and Pretty When You Cry are still Top Tier Lana. However, I used to think that the rest was kinda meh. That's still true about Money, Power and Glory and the title track to a degree, as well as F***ed My Way Up To The Top (the bridge is a highlight) but the lyrics of Brooklyn Baby just feel much better in hindsight and the last two tracks are a great send off.

yeah that’s probably my fav of hers outside of her last 4 (excluding the spoken word one lol)
this new one is hitting strangely different tho. Can’t get enough of tracks like Sweet, Kintsugi, and Fingertips. that trio of tracks feels like a shared peak for her writing

reminding myself how much i loved Kevis Costner as a kid this week :datass: Dances With Wolves/Robin Hood/Waterworld was an amzing threepeat
f***in Canadian
i been abstaining from television since before that show existed

i def get what you mean. they feel like an unexpected change in her sound and are also among my favs. they are so intimate. thought of the amelie soundtrack when I heard them for the first time.

lmao i’m not familiar with the Amelie soundtrack in specific, but lowkey those songs do sound sort of “musical-ish”
