I wouldn't call I'm Not in Love saccharine in the slightest. The song is super bitter and pitiful when you really dig into the lyrics and the production basically invented vaporwave 35-40 years ahead of time. S*** is amazing honestly

Yeah it almost feels like dreampop at times. Love it.

It’s a shame this has been reduced to a joke song by movies and television, because if you earnestly sit with the whole thing it’s actually really beautiful.

Also shout out Eric Carmen for sort of kickstarting power pop as a genre with the Raspberries. He’s like “miss me with that prog s***, I’m all about jamming with them Beatles harmonies”.

Revisited Portishead’s Third. Really love the direction they went in and wish they kept developing it, but I do still think that I ultimately prefer the first 2. But really it’s a killer “trilogy” of albums and they can shift around with my mood.

Forgot how good Magic Doors was. The longer tracks are great too, but I do love some of the shorter gems. Even that little acoustic gem.

Listened to The Hissing of Summer Lawns by Joni Mitchell and other than Blue this is definitely my favorite from her. Really great arrangements. Easy autumn time listening. This one in particular really stood out to me.

I dig her raw vocals on the debut, but yeah she really improved her range. I’ll probably be listening to the band heavy through the winter
